oh and to answer ur question the best way to take a punch if u have no other option is to try and roll with it. Alot of old school fighters were masters at this but i think Roberto Duran was one of the best. Today, Barrera is also great at it.

i remember this south african guy who was RIPPED told me he used to fight with the wierdest stance in a street fight. i didnt believe him but he said he used to put his hands all the way up and behind his head so that only his elbows were sticking out in front of his face. Any shot to his face would be blocked by his elbows and before they could hit his body he would attack them. interesting technique but never seen it used.

Yeah I read your post - it looks good thanks. I actually got a book from the library today about lifting (so I do it right:cool: ) and it's pretty interesting stuff. My dad has some old weights so I guess I'll get started tomorrow.

For some reason I still think it's best to just roll with punches in boxing (not fighting). Street fighting... Well then I could see the "Cranial Block Maneuver" working like a charm. :good

It hurts just as bad as getting hit on the back of the head. Why in the world anyone would try to take a punch to the top of the head is beyond me.

I know I keep saying this, but this forum has really gone down hill.

Like actual fist fights? You do realize this is a boxing forum, right? And, yes, I've been in fist fights before. (and no, not with other girls) It's not something I go around bragging about either, it's stupid.

i know it hurts to get hit in the back of the head  i box too. I was agreeing with him in the sense that it also hurts to HIT someone on the top of the head with no gloves. it hurts alot.

and the muy tai thing makes sense now that u mention it hypnotiq with blocking body shots with the knees. good move now that i think about it, if ur trained.
