Taking everything into account, which fighter do your rate higher, Eubank or Benn?

    It's strange how times change. Back in the day, it was hard to find anyone say a good word about Eubank. I was a Eubank fan over Benn by the way, yes, a rare breed back in the day.

    Today however, Eubank is seen as the total the ring master.

    Back in the day Benn took the gamble in fights, match up, Chris did not. Benn went over to the US... when that was a huge deal.

    Eubank, from his own mouth, states he was not interested in taking on the guys in the US, so please stop defending him on that front (I've seen folk trying to in other threads).

    Chris very much stated, publicly stated, he'd never shut up about it in fact, that it was all about the money, until one day, he realised it was something more than that, when he just couldn't simply wave his hand and win anymore.

    Love them both, but I'm going Benn due to his superior resume.

    Also, I give him credit as the man over Eubank who was willing to take the risks, rather than stay at home, in a time when fighting in the States was a huge deal. It's seen as less so nowadays due to the demise of the sport of boxing in the States. Back in the day, going over to the US and beating a man on their own turf was worth a very decent amount of credit.

    i happened to like eubank,but just liked benn so much more,he brought excitment,fighting heart and a devistating one punch ko. he acually dident give a **** back then,he just wanted to hurt,and if he got hurt in the process,so be it..

    where as eubank just wanted to win,dident give a toss how he did it. good boxer though,though i thought in benn eubank 2, benn showed he can out box a boxer

    How?? He didn't land a single punch in rounds 1 or 7, didn't land a single jab in 12 rounds, and got caught frequently with hard accurate creative shots in rounds 2, 3, 4, 5 and 9, and, then, he looked suicidal in 10, 11 and 12 (when Eubank was there for the taking with his legs shagged barely able to get enough air in his lungs), so no he did not clearly win that fight - he clearly didn't do enough man

    To be fair Benn was cooked by that point. I think it a bit unfair not to call Benn a warrior.

    Eubank, but Benn's win against G-Man was a signature victory that Eubank did not have. Although I would say, stepping in the ring with Carl Thompson at Cruiserweight is equally impressive.

    No way does 2 losses to Thompson, by a Eubank who can no longer make SMW/LHW, come even remotley close to Benn fighting G-Man.
