Ah figured that out I was talking bout gettin stopped myself, there's no lesson to be learnt by fighting a heavy handed one punch wonder. In my last fight my trainer gave away weight to my opponent (sometimes I think my trainer wants me to get beat up) I weighed in 70.8kg my opponent weighed 75kg or there abouts I still beat him but I could feel the weight difference with every shot

I'd fight a 150 bouter no problem cos even if I lose I still win, actually it would be an honour to share a ring with an opponent like that,

    Finally a voice of reason!!

As in a voice that told you what you wanted to hear. You haven't done **** to think you're in a position of nothing to gain by fighting another novice. You're a novice, he's a novice, it's just another bout to get experience.

  3. Kolya is right tmsbry. You have to face them sometime.

Watch somer Marvin Hagler, as a youth he faced anyone and always had supreme confidence because of that.

My old trainer never told any of the people fighting the other guys record so they wouldn't get intimidated/take it easy in the fight.

Unless you truly understand the reasoning why your boxing and you don't want to progress any further you will always be hesitant to fight the tough ones. As most have said on here, experience is more valuable than protecting your record. Especially if you plan to go pro in the near future...If your still concerned, don't waste you and your trainers time. Boxing is not for the feint hearted...

You are scared, you think you have potential and you are afraid that someone who might not be as skilled as you lands a heavy punch and beats you. In an even worse situation he might be a better boxer than you aswell. There's nothing wrong with being afraid, you just need to change your perspective on the fight. You're not going to go far in boxing if you think you have something to protect, you're an 8 fight amateur. Take the hard fights, take the losses, learn from your losses. Don't hide your fears behind a veil of arrogance, face your fears and look at yourself in the mirror.

So you'll only take fights you know you can win or have a very good chance of winning? How are you going to better yourself doing that?

The point of any competition is to prove yourself, show your skills and show you're the best. No offence intended but at the moment you sound like a ***** who's scared to take on a decent boxer because you may lose.

Maybe you are a *****, maybe you have no real skill, maybe you have no self confidence, whatever the reason you'll get nowhere doing what you're doing.
