What's the best example of a fighter "taking someone apart"? Whatever your definition is, provide an example. I don't know if its the best, but James Toney vs. Vasilliy Jirov, Round 12 comes to mind. Here's the final round. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66qLo0fVyxg
I would say Lewis' beat down on iron Mike Tyson, he beat him up almost the whole fight and finished the job in the 8 with a devastating knockout.
im not his biggest fan, but calzaghe-lacy was a pretty good example of taking someone apart, destroying them mentally and physically. if you look at lacys eyes after about 3 theres just nothing there.
I remember Tyson moaning in pain about his cut eyes and Lewis finished him. That was a sound beating. Tyson was so faded at that point. Lennox knew what to do. Tyson was a bloody pulp on the floor.
terry norris - meldrick taylor mel won the first round becuase he wqas just being agile and quick handed but in the 2nd he does the same and get cut off and beaten to the punch an dhten gets hit more and then he is outboxed and combed...terry broke what meldrick was good at and let his man fall apart. and when mel did slow down and seem less effective boom he became a killer and destoryed him blow after blow
Yeah I was pretty mad about that fight, its just too bad they didnt meet closer to Tysons prime I think we would of had a different outcome. Tyson was so washed up by that point, but he took a serious ass whooping that night.
bernard hopkins - felix trinidad felix main weapon was a left hook it served him well and got him out of trouble but bernard totally outfoxed him by keeping a right hand guard upthruogh out the fight and lunging in with a left uppercut which he wanted tito to bite and try to counter it with a hook but bernard had such a high gaurd that tito's punch seemed uneffective and while hopkins stayed longer tito looked for a ko more and more until he became very desprate and just seemed to throw his hook at the sign of movement which is what hopkins was waiting for so he threw his bait the left uppercut tito threw to hit him square it got cuaght and then bang right hand down the pipe. bernard did this before earlier in the fight but this was the ending punch. great tactician beyond a match but a game of chess that bernard knew he could win against an agressive younger fighter who would throw balls out if it came to it. great way of using your enemies strength there weakness
I guess you could say that Ray Mercer took Morrison apart as he was out on his feet, but proped up by the ropes. Brutal.
Yeah that was a brutal knockout, Mercer is known for hitting guys when there already knocked out and going down to the canvas.
JorodZ....good call on Duran/Moore, that's one of my favorites. Moore was literally taken apart, he wasn't ready for a fight like that at that point in his career.
