I don't agree with you on alot of things, but this is pretty much how I see it.

I don't really see the height and reach being a problem for Cotto, he has fought other opponents taller and longer reach than him, besides Pinto who was 5'10", Cesar Bazan was 5'11 like Margarito and a longer reach than Margarito (75" to 73"), and took care of him pretty well granted at a lower weight.

Power -Cotto- In terms of damage, give the edge to Cotto, his punches seem to do alot more facial damage to his opponents than Margarito's do and with less thrown.
    Speed - Cotto
    Agility - Cotto
Stamina - Even, maybe slight edge to Margarito
Body - Even, maybe slight edge to Cotto if you mean who has taken body shots better, since Margarito has been down 2-3 times in his career, 1 I believe from a bodyshot
    Chin - Margarito
    Heart - Even
Cuts - Cotto, he hasn't really been cut on his face from punches, he really gets the cut that bothers him in his mouth/inside his lip. The cuts Cotto got in Mosley and Judah fights were both from headbutts (Judah cut when he slammed his head on purpose in the 4th or 5th round, Mosley cut in the 12th round when they both came in with their heads). Margarito, he seems to swell and cut in quite a godd number of his fights from punches.

Fight night needs the broaden the criteria used to rate a fighter.

Definately, I can only hope they add some more attributes in Round 4.

I'm giving an overall edge to Cotto primarily based that on 8 criteria used to rank we could say that they are pretty tied up , but on ring intelligence and boxing technique Cotto should overcome Margo, since Cotto is an Overall better boxer, is like with Paulie Malignaggi he has speed, technique, etc but lacks punching power making him a nice contender but not a champion, no more than that.
Margo hasn't perfomed well against good boxers like Paul Williams, Joshua Clottey... I mean I was expecting Margo to run over Clottey , thank god Clottey broke his hand during the fight or else who knows if Margo lose that one too. With Williams he could not change his game plan in 12 rounds and errors like that are giving the edge to Cotto , who was only rocked and down (correct me if im wrong) at 140lbs. Bottomline I see this going for Cotto UD , dont think that KO Margo is in Cotto plan unlees he sees Margo truly hurt and mostly he would put pressure and win rounds till the end. On Margos side I do think he has the power to put Cotto down but lacks the opportunity to do so.

Power: Cotto ( left hook body/head)

Speed: Cotto ( left hooks, Jab, str8 right)

Agility: Cotto ( lighter on his feet, moves smooth and can move back punching)

Stamina: Margarito ( endless stamina and grows stronger as the fight progresses)

Body: Cotto ( with a one big shot), Margarito ( with consistent body work)

Chin: Margarito ( Cotto has a sturdy chin too)

Heart: Cotto ( but Margo has pride and guts)

Cuts: Even ( Cotto vs Judah, Margo vs Santos II)

The main issue here is whether M A Cotto cannot break his way through with his big punches - what is he gonna do? Can he keep his cool and box his way to the finish line? Or will he go deep in there and try to prove who's the MAN in good old fashioned latin-american style?... In the later case, I see Tony absorbing and coming back with something nobody would be able to take.

Any other thoughts on this? It would be very interesting to see what ESB thinks.

Marg is leaning in, look at the level of his shoulders, he is 5'11 at least, I think. Maybe 6'. Either way he is def. a big, strong welterweight.

There has been cases of the "smaller man" handling the "bigger man" by making himself smaller, i.e a smaller target by adopting a full crouch stance, chin tucked into the chest and slightly leaning forward, a prime example being Chagaev v. Valuev.

You guys have other advantages ... like the reach ... and don't be surpised at Margarito's speed either, I know its not up there with some of the elite guys in the division but i'm sure that he will suprise alot of people with his speed.
