Yeah, I'm not knocking the selection of opponents, after all the division has been cleaned out and Wlad has few options. It's just that the fights don't look very interesting: JMM mismatch, Thompson already beaten and KOed, Adamek was completely dominated by Vitali and I don't see him doing any better against Wlad. At least Arreola would be somewhat more interesting because of the styles.
also Adamek had better punchstats vs Vitali in 10 rounds then Haye did vs Wladimir in 12. Nobody wants to watch dancing Haye with 8 punches per round againts Valuev
Personally I enjoyed Adamek gameplan vs Vitali. There were 2 main tactics... 1. Plod forward without any head movement & get staggered around by old vitali's arm punches & jabs. 2. Run, hide & then quit like a *****. It will be interesting to see if he adopts the same strategy against Wlad.
I'm not interested in seeing Adamek in another one sided beating. Adamek vs. any other top contender outside of the Klitschkos would be a great fight. But we won't see any of these fights because everybody doesn't want to risk losing a big pay-day against one of the brothers. I have nothing against them but I really want them to leave the sport because they are unrivaled, and way ahead of the next best fighter at HW. It's not even interesting anymore.
I'm not crazy about Adamek getting a shot at Wlad, he has little chance and didn't put up a great effort with Vitali and I think Adamek has less chance of beating Wlad so it would be pretty ugly. If Adamek were to beat a contender or two than that would make it more interesting. But he's talking about a tune-up around March and possibly Wlad in late 2012. That leaves room for possibly just one fight with a contender. There's talk of him and Arrreola and I want to see Adamek do more than beat Arreola again to get a shot. I don't think losing to one brother means you're automatically eliminated from fighting the other. We normally don't say losing to one belt holder means you can't fight another in the other weight classes and shouldn't with the Klitshckos. I'd like to see Vitali take on Chambers or Haye and Wlad take on Arreola. I would just like to see Adamek do more than beat Arreola to get his title shots.
Not a chance. Vitali carried him and everyone knows it. Wlad's a finisher when he's convinced danger is not looming. It is a horrible fight for Adamek, as of the 5-10 CWs who have moved up, he is by far the one who should move back down for the sake of his own legacy.
Arreola or Welliver should be Wlad's late 2012 opponent or the winner of Dimitrenko vs Helenius if it happens.:deal
