Okay so I met Khan today at a event in NJ at my boys gym. We got to hang with him after a bit and from what I've heard, he's been praising Andre Ward heavy and has been talking about finalizing Virgil Hunter as his next trainer. still no decision for his Dec 15th fight but it will be on the 15th, still tryna figure out details. thoughts? I think Hunter would be good for Khan, seems like he understands spacing and footwork really well which could help Khan immensely with his defense, I'm a fan so I'd like to see him do well.
yeah as far as prized fighting goes, only with Ward so far.. Khan would be his number 2 fighter and they'd do it so training camps wouldn't get in the way of each other. Khan's big thing is he's not comfortable fighting how he is, as a pure offensive fighter... he says he'd like to stick and move a lot more and he wants to take his jab to another level.. he feels he has a lot of defense to improve on and he wants to concentrate more on winning rounds.. back to the basics basically.
Virgil Hunter has at least one other fighter( Gonzalez, I think is the last name). Probably others. But certainly not the number of high profile fighters that Roach has. But just as certain, Ward will remain the top priority, if this rumor is true.
Is Khan gonna ***** and whine like a little ****** if Hunter takes a call from Ward after some mittwork?
