Nothing set in stone that Floyd has to fight on that date.. in fact, it appears as though he might not be able to. GBP has that date, plus I have heard Floyd might push it back due to the cut he got in Maidana fight.

No idea of the truth... but there if there is a better fight to be made in October or November.. why not? Do people care about Floyd fighting on a particular day, or do they want to see a good fight?

His first sentence was basically saying that styles dont make fights. I ended up skimming down to the end where he was implying I called Maidana fight garbage or a C level fighter.

If you can really take him seriously after that, well... okie so be it.

you see Xelloss..i dont actually have a problem with you...most of the time i read what you have to say...you have an obvious slant....but so do i...i still read you and feel for the most part you are reasonable

my problem is you read what i had to say...didnt like it...and chose to make up your own idea of what i said.....

my original point is/was...pac and floyd are top 5 p4p fighters...that fight in the same class.....manny has been fighting at 147 for years now....they should be held to the same standard....if a fight is not good for floyd and a cherrypick....then it should not be ok for pac....and i dont care if there is a difference of floyd fighting danny at 147/pac fighting him at 140.....i dont care about your perceived "styles" matchup...if the opponent is quality enough for pac...then hes quality enough for floyd......i know certain people feel that floyd should just retire if hes not fighting manny....and if you feel that way....thats ok....just realize he doesnt have to retire cuz you want him to...if he wants to keep fighting thats on him....you dont have to watch or buy....but if an opponent is ok for pac then its ok for floyd.....the double standard makes me cringe

 

i never said that styles didnt make fights....what im saying is by that cliche...every fight floyd could make would suck....because his style can/could be boring.....yet pacs style is always more fan friendly.......when it comes down to who is a better fighter/boxer im not basing it on who has a more fan friendly style...i could care less about that....

if floyd fights danny garcia and outboxes him 10-2.....and pac fights danny and its an action packed fight that ends with pac winning in 7 rounds.....it doesnt matter to me....at the end of the day the question is....is danny garcia a world class top level fighter and quality opponent? i dont care how either guy fights/beats the guy.....they both should be held to the same standard as far as opponents are concerned

 

See I just dont GAF about Floyd/Manny comparisons in the first place. I never said Maidana was a bad fight (the opposite). I dont judge Floyd or Manny via proxy from fights with other fighters. I really dont care.

But ignoring the fact that its Floyd and Manny for a second, one guy is a offensive fighter vulnerable to counters. One is a defensive fighter.

Garcia is a counter puncher. He has an easier time dealing with offensive fighters who come to him. He has a harder time with defensive fighters.

Anyhow, its W/E. Bottom line is expect Floyd-Garcia to look a lot like Floyd-JMM. Floyd-JMM put the fans to sleep, yet JMM put Manny to sleep. Just like Garcia would have a chance of putting Manny to sleep, but Garcia-Floyd will put fans to sleep.

I was hoping Floyd would put on an entertaining bout, like Cotto or Maidana. If he doesnt, you are correct that it is his choice. He can do what he wants. Still, its a shame.

 

Because Thurman's Mayweather's mandatory and the one person fans wanna see mayweather fight next not Garcia
