Wrong again, my nut-filled mouth friend. I give Floyd props for his work at 135. . . since moving up in weight hes chosen the path of least resistance time and time again.
I would'nt say Floyd has ducked Cotto, simply because Arum has never offered Floyd a deal to fight Cotto.
If Floyd is a big a draw as he says he is then why does he need cotto to be a draw? i thought floyd could sell 500k+ ppv's himself?
Exactly and that's what these dumbass fools fail to recognize. Tell Team Cotto to make an offer or STFU.
He sold over 300K by himself against Baldo. He wants megafight money and you still need a big name opponent to have one. Hopefully Cotto-Margo will do good and the fight can be made early next year.
So Cotto was a big enough draw at 140 but not now? margo-cotto i doubt will sell much over 300k, margo does not have a big fan base and cotto is only a draw with the ricans.
Arum already played that game with Fraud, he knows when Fraud is in ducking mode. Remember he was taking the entire year off? But now he wants DLH and Hatton in pointless rematches. Their pointless unless you consider an excuse to duck the Cotto-AM winner a "point".
PBF was not at the level he is now. He's had two mega paydays and wants only those type of fights to close out his career. Back then he would have taken the Cotto fight for a few mil now he wants 20 mil. So my question is how in the **** can he be ducking someone he already mentioned fighting?:huh
This is an excellent post Reg. I commend you for taking this stance, you proved me wrong about you. :deal
Ill say it, he did duck Cotto. It was a pre-emptive duck. WHen Merchant specifically asked about Cotto after the Fraud-Hatton fight. Fraid said he was taking 2008 off to promote. Now he wants pointless rematches with DLH and Hatton. Its clear that these rematches are a way of ducking Cotto and the winner of Cotto-AM. Fraud wanted Cotto at 140 when he was still green and weight drained. After seeing Cotto beat and even outbox Shane at 147 - Fraud wants nothing to do with him. Funny how Fraud wants Cotto at 140, not his best weight. . . and Hatton at 147, not his best weight. Just more examples of his path of least resistance.
So offering a fighter a contract to fight Cotto is playing a game? I love how you try to spin it. Arum needs to offer Floyd the fight or just shut the **** up. He is fighting DLH a 2nd time in a warm up fight. The Hatton rematch is all speculation.
Read my original post. I clearly indicated that he could do big numbers without fighting someone who is also a big draw. You have to sell these fights just like anything else. Floyd, Hatton and HBO did a great job of selling that fight. If you put Floyd, HBO, and Arum together along with a credible Arum fighter like the Margo/Cotto winner. That fight will be sold to the public with relative ease.
And what the **** did Cotto say about fighting PBF? "I'll fight whoever my promoter puts in front of me". He's never called out PBF and demanded a fight. What you ****s keep failing to realize is that it's Cotto's job as the challenger to make the offer and challenge PBF not the other way around PBF is the champ, Cotto wants what PBF has. Just like PBF called out Oscar and fought at 154 on his terms just like Hatton called out PBF and fought at 147 on PBF's terms, Cotto must do the same.:deal Why the exception for Cotto?
