Apparently, Perez called him out, and Johnson has said that he will accept. Good fight if it happens.
Theyve sparred each other in the past. Plenty of stories bout Perez schooling him after that but they all originated from his own team so must be taken with more than a pinch of salt.
I recently watched Perez in that prizefighter tournament, and he seems to be a good ,promising fighter. He has good power and speed, because he just rammed through all opposition.
I like Mike Perez, unlike Haye he's actually exciting inside the ring... I'm not going to watch it though. I swore never to watch a "Safetypin" Johnson fight again. Only maybe the recap if Perez knocks his ass out.
Safety Pin should be taken to a field and shot in the back of the head. He is terrible inside and outside the ring. I'll never buy into this frauds hype again.
Saftey Pin was a disgraceful coward in his fight against Vitali... if he pulls that **** again i'm turning it off.
The funny thing is, Perez is much more dangerous than Vitali (hits a lot harder) but Johnson might be a bit more confident against him since he doesn't have that fearsome reputation and enormous # of "KOs". Johnson could come into this one too brave trying to win back some dignity by slugging it out only to get KTFO this time. :yep The thing is, a slugfest could actually get interesting and we might see Perez's chin tested. I always believed that Johnson carried a lot of dormant power that just went to waste due to him not sitting down on his punches most of the time as he coasted through his early opposition looking bored and winning with almost exclusively his jab.
Yeah, I just read about this fight. I still need to see more of Perez to decide if he is the real deal. I have seen him and yes he hits hard, is fast and knows boxing, ( the kid is a former ex-amateur from Cuba with 300+ bouts and we all know what that means ) but Perez looked kind of wild in that Tournament that he won. I didn't see a smooth technical fighter, I saw a pretty wild but powerful Perez who has very fast hands for a HV and he is very small for a HV. But hey, Tyson was only 5'10 and look at how good he was! This is a good fight for both, but Perez will beat up Johnson and will not prove much. Perez can get better opposition and he is ready now. He already has around 16 pro fights and is ready to fight pretty good guys already. A tremendous test for Perez would be Cuban Solis but I don't want to see two of our best HV prospects going at it. Let's see if this fight gets made, but if it happens, Johnson is going to sleep.
intriguing fight. johnson has very good defense. finally perez is fighting someone who has some skills
