i could see this fight happening. As Martinez would want a name like Cotto who he'll assume he can beat.

And Cotto would heve a chance for a Middleweight title.

Imagine that, Cotto Middleweight Champ! Despite being a small Light Middleweight.

 

Another catch weight fight.....

I love both Cotto and Martinez but why a title fight at a catch weight.

Hopefully its at the full weight or no title.

Am I the only one who sees this as a brutal mismatch?

 

I was never convinced Cotto belongs at 154, so the notion of him being Middleweight champion seems crazy.

I won't be surprised if it happens though, Cotto has shhown that he'll fight whomever Top Rank puts in front of him. This seems like a terrible match-up for him though, Martinez should just be too much for him.

 

A MW title should not be won at 155. That's ridiculous.

Its not fair, cotto get all the heavy fights while others can relax, he deserves a breaK once in a while, give him a tune up first then margarito for redemption.

Just have the catchweight, no need for the title being on the line...like a number of people have said.

Cotto still amazes me though, he would pretty much fight anyone...you would think the beatings and hard fought bouts he has had over his career, that it would maybe make him think twice...

Wow... mad props to Cotto if he takes this fight. Still, I feel like Martinez would put a beatdown on Cotto. I really hope I'm wrong though and that at the very least it's a competitive fight.
