It probably has to do with balance. Short legs and a low center of gravity is more conducive to good balance than long legs and a high center of gravity is. Angelo Dundee once said that he thought Tommy Hearns was hampered by not having great balance, and that if Hearns had balance as good as Sugar Ray Leonard, Hearns would have been the best fighter ever.
Idk about that i have a long neck but ive never been down, let alone out in sparring or in matches of any kind. I do have strong jaws. However, i have noticed that it does seem to be harder to ko guys with short stiff necks like chuvalo and bonavena. Their brain doesnt get rattled around as much. Carnera, Cooney, wladmir, and lennox are all tall guys with notoriously bad chins despite being extremely tall, strong, and hit hard.
Silly stereotype. This thread was done before. Vitali has as good an argument as any as GOAT hw chin. Wach is the best active chin in the sport. So, argument fail.
blood supply to a larger frame is more difficult to maintain especially under pressure and especially to the furthest regions of the body. Why is this relevant? Because the head is one of those furthest regions of the body. And if you arent supplying the head with blood properly its more likely to be goodnight vienna when you are gasping for air.
