Robinson was extremely durable for a 5'11 welterweight. I'm talking about tall, somewhat lanky fighters here, so not most heavyweights who bulked up anyway, like Riddick Bowe, but Zeljko Mavrovic is a typical example.
Ali was lanky, and one of the most durable heavyweights of all time. Come up with more later, if I remember this post in the morning.
Interesting thread. The tall lanky non-heavies sometimes can be power punchers, but they tend not to be super durable. I can think of two exceptions. Sandy Sadler. An ATG chin at his weight, Saddler was tall and lanky. Another one would be Ricardo Lopez who was also tall for his weight, though he was a straw weight fighter so its hard to say how good his chin was. But were there any tall and lanky middles or light heavies with top level chins? None that I can think of.
What about Margarito? I know he was stopped not too long before fighting Cotto, but he absorbed some nasty shots from Cotto and barely blinked.
That would be an understatement, to say the least. These guys belong among the absolute elite of any build, let alone tall and lanky.
I was thinking about him, but due to modern weigh-ins, i think he would've been a middleweight during any pre-90's era. But he sure is durable as hell. By the way, is that chick in your avatar from Myth Busters?
