he is still a player until 09...because he wont be able to make the weight much longer..all the top contender and champions are busy right now so who will pw fight?
Personally I think Mosley is the last person on that list he should fight.....another stylistic nightmare....probably a wider margin version of the CQ fight.
nah SM is not that type of boxer he'll slug it out SM by KO or PW by SD that could go either way mosely has trouble with tall fighters who use range. then again PW doesn't really use his height but mosely could still have trouble finding the range
Mosley would knock out PW. Carlos Quintana exposed PW and he is still levels below Mosley. Mosley is too fast and has a very good chin which mean he would just walk through PW punches and land his own making PW quit.
He's definitely a player since most of the top 10 are B, B- class fighters. One loss wont set him back too far. My only question is how much longer he'll stay at 147 because at 154, I can't see him doing too well.
I've got Collazo, Cintron, Mosely and obviously Cotto and Mayweather over him at 147. What can he do? Beat other hype jobs like Berto? Not even convinced that's the case, though I'd favour him. He's a B- level fighter. All these Williams apologists want to say 'styles, styles', but Quintana is just OKAY, a solid B Welter.
One can say that he is still a player in the WW div.. After all he beat a 'top' guy named Margarito keeping him at a distance throwing a lot of punches, so IF he learned from his loss against Carlos (which I think he did) he needs to work on his jab, not only throw a jab but how the jab can affect the opponent's offense when coming forward like in the Quintana fight. I think he can fight Cintron, Collazo and Clottey like Jabo said, but Mosley and Cotto will KO him, those guys can Hit hard as hell to Paul's body and I don't think Williams will affect them in any way by his punches.
After seeing him against Quintana, I'd take Mosley, Collazo, and Cintron over him as well. Spinks would make him look very bad. I'd take him to beat Berto, Clottey, and Gomez. This really puts Margarito in perspective. And after saying he'd beat Floyd at 147, I'll recant that statement now. Floyd is too accurate and would potshot him in the center of the ring. We've seen that Williams can't be nearly as effective against a slick fighter with defensive awareness, and his punch output drops dramatically.
Yeah, after the quintana fight we saw that Williams cant handle a guy that can move. Stay away from Sugar shane. I think he should go after clottey, or perhaps collazo.
