If Tank can somehow beat Shakur, Loma, Haney and top prospects like Keyshawn and Cruz he'd be 90% of the way there. Moving up another division and getting a top 10 win would be the icing on the cake. It's not impossible but I don't think he has ATG skills and will likely lose if he ever steps in a ring with Shakur.
It´s not nutrition and better fitness. Fighters in the past had arguably better nutrition. But you are spot on with the competition part. Young fighters used to fight often and they would have though fights. A current boxer, Hernan Marquez is a great example of that. He was clearly past his prime by the time he was 28. And now at 34, he is a shadow of his former self.
His road to ATG status if he ever makes it will be walking the path of smoke and mirrors and deception not following in the footsteps of the legit ATGs down the traditional route of the path of true greatness.
Now he has taken care of Garcia good and proper when he adds Haney, Loma, Teofimo and possibly Shakur to his list of victims you guys won’t have any excuses left to deny him his due.
Forget about the current generation they won't accomplish anything close to ATG level. Tank should have done it in his mid 20's. He is ducking the older top fighters in their prime. Look at it this way. Canelo failed against Mayweather. Tank would fail against Canelo. But good news for Tank is the next generation that will come after him will probably just get worse. He will possibly dominate this era of degenerates. His younger challenger will probably have not only tattoos all over his body but will probably identify as a bi-gender alien.
They aren't excuses. He's a one-weight champion not a five time/three-weight one and he has fought a grand total of one prime world champion who was a champion at the weight he fought them at in a ten year long career. And he's been ducking Loma like crazy for nigh on seven years. These are just the facts.
When he knocks out Loma then the excuse will be Loma was to old but perhaps Tank is just to good as he approaches his prime.
Loma is too old. You can't shamelessly duck someone for nigh on seven freaking years Olu and then receive the credit for beating a prime version of them after finally managing to summon the courage to step up to the plate to face them when they're old and clearly past their prime. If Twink wants credit for beating a prime Loma he should've fought him in his prime instead of shamelessly ducking him and openly admitting he was waiting for him to get old. This is exactly what I'm talking about him traveling down the path of deception and smoke and mirrors.
