I must have missed a good half dozen Gervonta fights where he looked great against ranked guys.

Oh, no? Hmm...

 

He's riding off of beating Pedraza and Cuellar. Cool?

Forgive me for fancying Gervonta as *currently* overrated. Extremely overrated when I see a thread like this.

But who knows, could be a genius pick and this thread is legendary in another 10 years.

I'm not like, "ah dude, I gotta head home early tonight. Gervonta Davis is fighting a British guy!" or "gotta head home to watch a big fight tonight. Gervonta vs. Cuellar! Ooh!"

That is not a thing.

 

You talk like a fangirl. Most people here watch all title fights. It doesn't mean anything in regards to the actual fighters.

 

Very overrated.

Loma would give him a boxing lesson.

 

I want to be clear that I don't dislike Gervonta at all. I lean toward liking him over disliking him, probably. Just think he's overrated. He's like Spence except a lesser resume and less impressive on my "eye test." So I have to call it.

 

I'm reserving judgement because, the Oedraza fight aside, he's not done enough for me. There's more chance of him becoming the next Broner than there is of him becoming the fighter of the next decade.

 

This has shades of PacDbest.

 

How can he be? He sold his soul for shinny chains can't even speak his own mind, he is lost.
In life You can buy/sell/swap/trade a million and 1 possessions, everything has a price.
But if you lose your voice/sell your soul and another man controls what you can say?
You can't speak your mind, then hey I pity you.
