A lot of talk about Ryan Garcia & Tank Davis devolves into people bashing Tank for his opposition, but not saying anything about Garcia's resume. In fact, he gets a complete pass. When he beat Campbell - people were overrating that win as if he became undisputed. His resume is trash. Tank Davis - (for all the criticism I have of him) has a far better resume. He's beaten quality fighters such as Pedraza, Gamboa, Santa Cruz & Barrios - all of whom are much better than Campbell (a nearly man who was not good enough to be champion). In fact, Tank's win over Pedraza 4 years ago, trumps Garcia's whole resume.
I didn't know this was a debate, but sure. Also, After watching the way Garcia went down from a shot from Campbell, my advice would be to go nowhere near Tank.
You measure boxers potential as someone had belt or he is nobody. Linares and Campbell are better than Pedraza, ofc there also reason cos Campbell is large for 135 lbs division. Tank is not champion at 140 lbs: he does have some regular WBA belt, while Taylor does have The Ring, WBA Super, WBC, IBF and WBO World titles. There of course had been talks about " how Taylor clearly is not A side if compare with Tank " mainly impressed by US boxing fans. If we are talking about money ( pro boxing is only about Money nothing more ) then sadly I suspect that Trump vs Biden exib fight might had generated even more money than Conor vs out of retirement Floyd Jr. Or some enough well known in US musicians, actors might had gernerate more ppvs and tickets sales than Tank for sure. 135 lbs? Who Tank had beated at 135 lbs? Lopez is with The Ring , WBA Super, IBF, WBO World title belts. Tank did not had beated nor Loma, nor Lopez nor Campbell or Linares. 130 lbs? Tank looks that does have WBA Super belt, yeah. Nothing more. Basically looks that Tank, very athletic and stocky, muscular lad being under Floyd is jumping up and down and cherry picking. Nothing new in pro boxing. I hope he had learned from Canelo a lot, this at least had nice resume before fight vs Floyd Jr.
Never said I was proud. Where did you see me say that? I'm just pointing out the double standard hypocrisy of some posters on here.
Like who ? Ive never seen nobody claiming that Garcia has a better resume than Tank . This thread is an exageration you making a fuss over something thats not even an issue.
Bro, you're twisting my words. I never said people said Garcia's resume is better. I said they're giving him a pass above Tank, despite his resume not even being on Tank's level. They don't have the same energy for Garcia that they have for Tank. I didn't think my post was that hard to understand. Comprehension is key.
Nobody gives Garcia a pass most ppl dont even care or talk about him like i said this is not an issue. @shadow111 this might be a good thread for you.
The amount of posters talking negatively about Tank & not Garcia begs to differ. But we'll agree to disagree.
Facts, Gervontae better resume. I do hope they make this fight next. no one will want to see it down the road.
That's because Tank's older, been fighting longer and been at championship level for years now. He has no excuses. Garcia is just getting out of the prospect stage.
Eight years a pro. Ironically - and as P4P measuring stick - after eight years being a pro Canelo fought Mayweather...
