Are you guys serious? Spence has wins over most of the top WWs in the division not named Manny or Crawford. He’d be favored over Manny and 5050 vs Crawford. He has recent wins over a tough Porter and Brooke and has won all of his fights convincingly.

Meanwhile, Tank has made a living fighting smaller guys who can’t punch moving up in weight. He’s handled like a low level prospect and has only fought on legit opponent in his career. Gotta protect that 0! Somehow he managed to move out of 130 without fighting a top 5 guy and his first opponent at 135 is a shot and faded Gamboa.

This tells you all you need to know about Tank. On Twitter, he’s the best fighter in the game but in the ring, he prefers soft touch opponents to pad his record. Tank is nothing but a punk, mumbling insults to other fighters and crushing cans in the ring. His physical skills are good but I predict his lack of mental discipline will be his undoing. Once he loses that 0, which will happen if he ever faces a guy like Haney, I suspect losses 2-3 will soon follow if he chooses to fight legit opponents.

Spence is a legit champ. He always gets in great shape and has solid all around boxing skills and great size for WW. Twink has good power as long as he’s fighting smaller guys with less skill. We will see if he’s legit at 135 as soon as he fights a real opponent (if) assuming he can make weight. His next fight is more of a commercial to build hype. Make him look good against someone with an name who has no chance of winning. Perfect Tank opponent.

Spence will probably get the Crawford fight, so his legacy will hinge on that fight.

If Spence wins, Davis would have a lot of catching up to do.

On the other hand, I don't know that Arum is willing to put Loma in with Davis.

Loma has been begging to fight this guy. Arum has. I choice. The holdup has nothing to do with Loma’s side. Tank just needs to grow some balls and tell his puppet master boss Floyd tmake this fight happen. Loma is happy to give him the boxing lesson he is asking for and expose Tank for the hype he is.

You’re gullible if you think Arum works like that. The only reason he’s willing to with Crawford is because Crawford is totally out of options at this point.

Arum has already proven he would put Loma up against the best fighters at the weights he’s fought at. His first fight at LW was against Linares, a guy much more dangerous than anyone Davis has fought and at the time more dangerous than Davis. He just allowed Loma to fight Campbell in England, another guy who is much tougher than anyone Davis has faced and even let him fight Pedrazza right after shoulder surgery, no tuneup or soft opponent to see if the shoulder was healed.

Davis, on the other hand has not had a legit opponent at 130 in a long time. Somehow he made it out of the division without fighting any of the top belt holders and fought mainly smaller guys moving way too frequently. His next fight is against faded Gamboa, not a top five LW and you are accusing Loma of ducking? I suspect Tank will continue to crush cans and fight smaller guys coming off losses to puff up his record. Got to protect that 0 above all else! Right?

Don’t get me wrong, Tank is fun to watch and I hope he lives up to the hype. I just want to see him fight a live body or a guy who is at least top 5. At 135 he should have no problem with the weight because he obviously grew out of 130 a long time ago. We know he can beat cans and no-hopers, I look forward to seeing him against legitimate opponents. Loma has already called him out. Let’s see if Tank has the guts to take the challenge.

This is what gets me about guys like you on this forum: You’re willing to come up with extravagant excuses to justify whatever your favorite is doing and is not doing.

We aren’t talking about Davis’ resume. And Linares and Campbell never presented a serious threat to Loma. Davis does. Davis is explosive and has big power. Campbell and Linares were destined to lose tactical boxing matches to Loma.

the thread was about comparing the ceiling of Tank vs Spence. I pointed out that Spence is tested and it’s possible to determine his ceiling much easier than Tank. This is because Tank has fought mainly cans and smaller guys. I was giving an example of what Loma did when he went up to 135 and comparing it to what Tank is doing. Loma fought the best guy at the weight and has only fought top ranked guys. Tank scurried out of 130 without fighting top three guys and is picking up where he left off at 135, fighting a shot and faded Gamboa.

This is what gets me about guys like you on this forum. If Loma chose Gamboa as an opponent, you would be the first to criticize but Tank gets props for fighting a faded guy who isn’t even in the top ten. Tank talks a mean game on Twitter and Loma has called him out several times. If they don’t fight in the future, I don’t think it’s on Loma. Tank would rather fight cans, little guys and faded former champs with name recognition. It’s probably not a bad strategy because you guys go crazy every time he KOs a no hoper.

Spence has fought all the top welterweights, except for the ones he hasn't.

Hell yes! I think it would be a great fight. Contrast in styles and there seems to be a little bad blood between them. I would pay to see this fight. I’d also like to see either guy fight Haney. Haney is still young abs and developing but he’s going to grow out of LW soon and it would be great to see him fight Tank or Loma.

Teo was also on my list but he didn’t look good in his last fight. If he beats Commey, I’m certain Loma will fight him because he’s mando.

Lots of good potential fights in the LW division even without Mikey. If he loses the weight and gets back to 135, it will be more interesting.

It’s all relative. Spence has fought more top WWs than anyone not named Manny. His resume is miles ahead of Crawford has managed to avoid all top WWs. Spence and Crawford need to fight soon. That’s my top fight in boxing but I don’t see it happening in the near future. I guess Manny would be a suitable second place but Spence might be too big and Manny too old. Young Manny beats any of these guy soundly. I’m just not sure he has enough gas in the tank but he’s be Spence’s or Crawford’s best opponent either way.
