Tank Davis is the second coming of Adrien Broner, not Floyd Mayweather Jr.!

Hell, Tank ain't even the second coming of Floyd Mayweather Sr. for heavens sake.
(Mods don't ban me for this honest piece, please)

There are very few young Black American fighters that take their fighting career seriously in boxing. I can't speak for others but I SEE that there are too many Roy Jones clones and of course stiff upper bodied Mayweather clones in gyms here in So. Cal alone.
Floyd is delusional and he is a horrible, horrible, example for a young fighter to be around.
What worked for him does not work for everyone else. Davis, right now is what Adrien Broner was 2011-2012 .

The only draw back for Davis is that he has zero charisma or gift of gab, so his fall will be silent and no one will give a hoot. I would rather a young fighter start with Arum and then go the Mayweather route after a few years. He is already losing belts on the scale, hanging out late night, partying, and just out right being SPOILED*.

I agree.... There seems to be a problem with fighters here doing what they do well, and instead opting to being mediocre clones of well known fighters. Spence and Crawford are the two exceptions currently. Don't rate anyone else here off the top of my head...

Think he will be better than broner, and far worse than mayweather.

he hits harder than broner, more speed, more instinct. the only thing broner has for him now is his decent chin.

I won't ban you, this is spot on. Hopefully Shakur Stevenson will keep on the right path and completely outshine this nasty personality-less punk in a few years.

Stevenson is no doubt talented but he looks to have zero pop in he's punches, I really question what will happen when he faces some hard sob who will just walk through him and rough him up like a shafikov.

Serious talent but he needs to learn to sit down on he's shots than just grunting hard on each punch to try and weird he's opponent out

Yeah, I mentioned that on the Crawford-Indongo RBR, I'm afraid he might get steamrolled like Paddy Barnes almost was recently by Olteanu, he needs to work on that big time, and Bob needs to protect him for a little while before throwing him in with an effective pressure fighter.

Paddy Barnes isn't winning a world titles unless he goes to light fly or straw, which he could make.

Stevenson while talented is raw and arum as you said will have to manage him with care. On top of that he can't seem to fight effectively coming forward ,he smothers he's work and just keep firing shoes that dont bother he's opponent, he needs to become a more rounded fighter that sets up he's shots.

I think he might be one of them great amateurs that has a very amateur style eh quick punches with no snap and is fast but lacking in many areas.

A lot of the same could be said about conlan too, but I think he has a bit more power

I understand why people make the comparison but Davis has way more natural ability than Broner. The way he blew away Pedraza (as underdog) and Walsh was no joke, can't be getting too down on him after one bad night. I think the occasion got to him.

I like Davis but he gets hit far too much for my liking which will come back to bite him in the ass as he moves up in weight. His movement is also suspect and he feels that he can just overwhelm guys with speed and power kinda like gamboa which works against some but against the elite you need more variation to your game. He's still young but I doubt he'll get that much better he's a street cat and will always forgoe training and working on his craft for the allure of the streets and hitting the club. I wish it wasn't true but it is what it is. With some of these hood cats they get a little taste of money and some fame think they made it and they fall apart. I hope I'm wrong.

Too much money too early in thier career makes them complacent. They need to be humbled.. Boxing is a sport that required hard work, dedication and lots of graft. Floyd may be the richest highest paid athlete in the world right now but he worked his way up to that position.

Say what you want about Floyd, his work ethic is insane, trained like a beast.. He always stayed in shape and never once missed weight in his whole career.

Broner says he's "about billions" yet his net worth is $3 million.. He must be kicking himself for turning down rock nations $40 million multi fight deal. These guys got too big headed. I really doubt Broner And Davis would have missed weight if they weren't already rich.
