Tank Davis v De La Hoya?

How has this thread went on as long as it has. You cant objectively pick Tank with how his career has went. Not to mention, Tanks best bet is a KO…. Who here thinks Tank is stopping iron chinned Oscar who competed at middleweight?

 

Oba Carr, Ike Quartey, Fernando Vargas, Parnell Whitaker. Not bad in my book.

 

And thats just not enough. He needs to fight the best and he hasn't done that - he takes very safe fights.

 

Behave yourself as Oscar did not win against Whittaker and Quartey and was gifted those decisions. Tank is a better fighter than all of these except for Whittaker.

Ok, Oscar never lost to a Pitbull Cruz level oppoonent. You sure you want to use that type of logic? I would argue that the Cruz fight was closer than the Whitaker and Quartey fights and since you went there, ODH beat Trinidad. What? Tank is better than him too?

 

You say this then in another thread you criticise me for believing Lomachenko beat Haney ? so it's ok for you to disagree with the official decision and not me ? even though my opinion is the majority in regards to Loma beating Haney ?

ODLH scored 2 knockdowns vs Quartey and most people have no issue with him edging the fight based on the 12th round knockdown.

And let's remember ODLH vs Mosley 2 was an actual robbery and the Trinidad fight he was very hard done by aswell there's no way Trinidad won 7 rounds in that fight.

As for Tank being better than a prime 34-0 Quartey ? and Vargas ? highly debatable i don't think he's proven he's better than either as of today.

It's not me who thinks it, it's you who thinks it. Not once has Wahid fought someone you rated as the number 1 fighters in the division.

 

Trinidad beat Oscar clearly in my opinion. Real Mexican warriors don’t running. Mind you there was a reason he was running for his life because Tito was bring the heat putting him on extreme physical and mental presssure.

 

Who says I have a problem with it. I am telling you what I saw and how I scored those fights when Oscar was gifted the decisions. I am not screaming about it and in fact I blame Quartey because his job was to knock Oscar out which he failed to do. Had I been in his corner I would not expect the judges to do me favours.

I don’t think the 2nd Mosley fight was a robbery at all which I scored for Mosley. His body shots were very effective. Tito beat him clearly in my opinion putting him under a great deal of physical and mental pressure. There was a reason he ran in the championship rounds as Tito was coming forward looking to close the show. Yes I do think Tank is better than my fellow west African boxer Quartey especially as regards ring generalship. What I have noticed is Tank is one of those rare breed and he knows when and how to close the show.

 

Everyone he faced including Oscar protege Rihanna Garcia.

 

Beating multiple world champions, undefeated contenders and in several divisions make him number 1.

He's held trinkets at SFW, LW and LWW and in none of those divisions did he face the person you felt was ranked number 1. Not once. And that isn't my opinion it's yours.
