Norwood did drop Marquez but Marquez also dropped Norwood, it was a very close fight, where Marquez out landed Norwood, some see it as some what controversial because of that, but some also see it as the challenger simply not doing enough to "take" the title from the champion and so the champion gets the benefit of the doubt.

It would definitely be a close fight because of the clash of styles. I do think Marquez is the better fighter but as you say that might not be reflected in the actual fight the plays out. If Tank does get the decision it would no doubt be seen as a controversial decision as was the case with almost all Marquez's losses.

That fight was at 126 and JMM was nowhere near as polished. Levels below actually and Norwood at that time was a damned good champ if I recall. He was almost 40-0 or something like that

Which is why I think Marquez wins. By decision. You don't like Tank that's fine I get it, but give him a little bit of credit concerning durability and the ability to survive on the backfoot. I think Marquez would shut his offense down but no I don't think he stops him.

You dont think late round KO is possible? I mean i voted marquez by UD but since so many people are voting TKO/KO, its clearly not out of the question

I think a lot of the votes are from emotion. People don't like Tank. I've never seen anything that suggests Marquez would stop Tank. I base my opinion on his fights against Bradley, Alvarado and Casamayor. I personally think Tank is physically tougher than Alvarado and his movement is at least as good as Bradley (definitely not spoiler level movement like Casamayor though). I think Marquez would have trouble landing the type of combinations that could hurt Tank, and Tank isn't gonna stumble into a big "one" like Pac did. I definitely think Marquez is better and would win a clear decision though,

yeah I think marquez wins 9-3 with a knockdown or two happening on either side. Plus theres also a lot of people that love tank so it gets evened out. Marquez SD/MD/UD is most likely but late round KO (rounds 9-12) isnt out of the question considering he did that to pacquiao in the 6th.

agreed but marquez has never been knocked out (only knocked down) which makes this question more compelling.

Yes he has shown that he can be dropped multiple times and get back up. He has great recovery ability.
