Your key wrong analysis is you think of Tank as a puncher whereas at his core he is a skilled, dynamic boxer, a supreme counter puncher and ring general who is blessed with remarkable punching power. His power is icing on the cake.
LSC was an excellent boxer, so was Barrios ,as was Gamboa though he was a faded version of himself. I like Shakur a lot and I think he may be special but let him face an Issa Cruz who is a tough guy.
Totally disagree with dominating Tank. Nobody at 135 dominants Tank. Shakur will have less output against Tank because he knows he has to be careful for 12 rounds. Shakur won't be aggressive like he has been his last 4 fights because of Tanks power, speed and accuracy. I favor Tank in this fight
After seeing how Shakur reacts to a hard hitting counterpunching southpaw it’s hard to envision him looking any good against Tank. I think Tank would smoke Shakur now.
It’s clear now. Teo and Devin are interchangeable at the top spot. Tank is after and Shakur last. Tonight really exposed a lot about the guy. All talk no action. Literally. Already talking about taking a break? No heart. The only positive for him tonight it is he knows it was a terrible showing. The upside is he can improve but he is going to be a really hard sell now. Nobody will care how many titles he wins if this what he thinks it’s about.
Somehow I missed this thread..... Tank Davis, and I would've said that before tonight. Quite frankly Hector Garcia I'd give a decent shot to.
I still think Shakur can beat Tank but not if he fights the way he did tonite. Tank would have knocked this version of Shakur out tonite I have no doubt about that.
I still think Shakur will beat tank people don't understand styles and size in these fights. Tank is a midget with short arms and although he has power he has to hit Shakur to use it. Tank can be outboxed especially against a guy like Shakur who's not there to be hit. Shakur is just a bad match up for tank who's going to get lit up trying to close the distance against Shakur. Haney has a better chance of beating Shakur than tank does.
Tank throws even less punches than Santos, he has the lowest output in the entire sport so you can imagine how that fight will go..
I would have voted Shakur before tonight. Haven't seen tonight's fight yet though. Even considering what people are saying though, I'd still probably lean towards Shakur even if he looked bad.
If Tank catches you it’s game over, so he really can beat any of them at 135/140. However he’s still very unproven at the highest level and Shakur has a far more impressive resume. I lean towards him on points in a cagey fight.
