According to boxingnews: Davis, 23, is rumored to have sent out a Tweet recently expressing dissatisfaction with how his career has been handled by Mayweather. Davis is said to have deleted the Tweet a short while later. Mayweather’s talk with Arum could be a way for him to appease his young star Davis by matching him against the fighter considered the best talent in the super featherweight division in Lomachenko (10-1, 8 KOs), who has now moved up to lightweight and will be taking on WBA 135 lb. champion Jorge Linares (44-3, 27 KOs) on May 12 on ESPN at Madison Square Garden in New York. If Mayweather is serious about letting Davis take on Lomachenko, he can at least let him see where he stands in comparison to the fighter that is seen as one of the best in boxing. The worst thing that can happen is Davis getting knocked out or made to quit like Lomachenko’s last four opponents. But even in closing, Davis can learn from the fight, and improve as a fighter. “Loma has a hard fight with Jorge Linares on May 12,” Arum said to RingTV.com. “If all goes well for both guys it would make a good event later this year. Floyd did talk with Todd a few days ago about this.” Discuss brothers.
Davis needs a learning experience. Say whatever you want about Floyd, but he was always a true professional when it came to prefight preparations. Can´t say the same about Davis. And odd that hes complaining at all. Had a lot of TV exposure, a non deserved title shot and a co-main slot on one of the biggest sporting events of all time.
Wonder what roadblock(s) Floyd will introduce to prevent the fight from happening. Floyd's been talking for years now about how fighters shouldn't take certain fights and all of a sudden he has a change of tune? Must be because of the humiliating **** storm that fell on Duckvonta after Floyd's comments. That or he realizes Duckvonta isn't that good and needs to cash out on the lil homie.
Tank gets wrecked by Loma...absolutely destroyed. Maybe he develops into the kind of fighter who could challenge Loma, he's not even close yet.
Id love this fight.. And fk it about Davis waiting and gaining experience.. Fight needs to happen while hes young and Loma aint getting any younger.. If he gets his a$$ handed to him then good.. hes a tool and it will be a learning experience for him. and IF he wins.. he becomes the superstar Floyd wants him to be.
I think Loma could take his soul. Tank wouldn't be the same fighter after. He's clearly a confused guy right now. I don't think Floyd is the mentor he expected and hanging with AB is probably garbling his mind. I kinda fee sorry for him, and jeez he surely has the onset of pugilistic dementia. I have a feeling we may not see Tank with a full lengthy career.
I think Floyd's sudden change of heart in his stance on Tank vs Loma is exactly because he wants Tank to learn a lesson. He went to bat in numerous ways for Tank, only to get dissed by him. Hes volunteering Tank purely to humble him and see how he reacts to getting schooled.
