Tank is the biggest disappointment ive seen in Boxing, he was a very good fighter but had no desire to fight the best fighters in or around his division. A total waste of talent.
You're selling Tank short. He's also first ballot hall of famer for being one of the biggest disappointments in life... In 2017, he was arrested for first-degree aggravated assault for allegedly punching a childhood friend in West Baltimore, Maryland. In 2018, there was an arrest for a fist fight in Washington, D.C. In 2020 came an incident in Miami caught on video in which he dragged a woman out of a basketball game by the neck. In 2021, a hit-and-run in downtown Baltimore led to house arrest, and when Davis was found to have violated the terms of his home detention, he was sent to jail for 41 days. Really didn't seem to help because... In 2022, he was arrested in Florida for domestic violence, though his accuser eventually took back her accusations (which allowed Davis’ planned fight to move forward). This past summer he was arrested in Miami Beach for the alleged assault of an ex-girlfriend, though again the victim later declined to prosecute. And now, a former girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, has filed a civil suit claiming Davis entered the club where she worked and hit Rossel in the back of the head, choked her, grabbed her and pushed her. The suit claims Davis has been violent toward her on at least four other occasions and has threatened multiple times to kill her. Truly a gem of a "man"
A genuine bum. There are dozens of journeymen who are labelled as such who deserve far more respect than this fraud.
There have been plenty just like him in that sense, some still active - it's unfortunate that fans will insist on giving these guys credit so far beyond what they've done... But as long as that happens, there's a motive there for guys to continue doing it. Tank appeared to have the potential to go a long way - that doesn't necessarily mean he definitely would've if he'd tried (he might have, but I always set odds against fighters being much better than they've proved and so don't give credit until they do) but at the end of the day, he hid from challenges and was happy being the casuals champ, with zero genuine legacy. He'll retire rich, having taken next to no damage at all - in that sense he can consider himself to have been successful... But it's a very cynical way of making a career of boxing, and not in the spirit of the sport.
that pretty much nails it, fighters of today make there name then it’s smart business from there on.. look at Fury’s resume it’s laughable, he would never have fought Usyk but for Saudi money.
He is a dirty stinking bum outside of the ring, but a fairly successful hard punching weight bully inside it.
For me Gervonta is a very talented fighter but he doesn't have the right mindset, he has a weak legacy at the moment.
