Davis is not a household name. We have alot of unemployment. Coppinger is a haymon shrill just lying.
In terms of revenue, it´s a solid number. Davis just generated as much money in his PPV debut as Floyd did when he fought Gatti.
Tank not fighting top opposition is bad for the sport. This was his first meaningful fight since he demolished Pedraza. And this was LSC´s second fight at the weight. And it´s not like LSC himself has done anything meaningful since 2017.
Probably more money because of higher PPV prices today though you are correct on same numbers of PPV buys.
LSC is 4 weight divisions champion and a great fighter. I knew he would be Tank’s toughest test to date which Tank handled in spectacular fashion. We really must not denigrate or diminish LSC.
You are missing the point here. LSC has not fought anyone of note since he beat Frampton in the rematch. Davis himself had not fought anyone of note since he beat Pedraza. Those two fights happened in January 2017. Since then, neither Davis no Leo have fought any top names. This was a good fight, but it was two guys who had been avoiding everyone else. You got it backwards. LSC vs Davis sold less PPV´s than Floyd vs Gatti, but because i was higher priced, it generated as much revenue, if not more.
I strongly disagree. After beating Pedraza who don't forget was an unbeaten world champion prior to Tank knocking him out. Subsequently no one has beaten him up and stopped him the way Tank has including Lomachenko. Liam Walsh in his first defence was another very good fighter and undefeated when Tank fought and destroyed him. Fonseca fought for the world title twice, Jesus Cuellar is a former world champion, Hugo Ruiz is a 2 division world champion and Gamboa a great fighter and 2 weight world champion who gave Terence Crawford in my opinion his toughest fight to date. Tank closed the show against Gamboa. As regards the PPV my point is the numbers are impressive for debut.
I did not say anything bad about Pedraza. He is an excellent boxer. Liam Walsh being undefeated means nothing. And he wasn´t close to being a top 10 guy at 130. Fonseca fought for a title twice, and he lost twice. That is all he has achieved. Him being put up against Davis was seen as a massive joke at the time. Fonseca was there to be a highlight reel KO for Davis, on the Mayweather-McGregor card.Again, not a top 10 contender, or even close to it. Hugo Ruiz was a fantastic champion, but the last time he held a belt, was at 122lbs, where had a shaky chin. He then had a single fight at 126 and took a short notice fight with Tank at 130. Hugo had no business being in the ring with Tank. Gamboa, still is a good fighter, but his best days are WAY behind him. Dude is 38 years old. FFS, Robinson Castellanos managed to stop him AND Jason Sosa got robbed blind. Tank has not been fighting the best in his division(s). *Agree on the PPV numbers. In terms of revenue, it´s a hell of a start.
They have the numbers of buys by now and if it was anything over 200k, I think they would have released it. They have been very quite on it so far which means it wasn’t near 200k. At $75 dollars I think 100k buys would be a stretch.
