The article doesn't say that. His opinion was it was poor because Canelo v plant did 800k.

Should Canelo vs a non English fighter who many people would have no idea who Bivol was on a new ppv platform do similar numbers to the plant fight? I don't think so.

Canelo v GGG will be a better barometer as those numbers can be compared to the previous fight.

    Disagree.

Im a real fan and I care about numbers, as should others.

Big numbers means a healthy sport. A healthy sport means more likely to be visable to the mainstream. Being visable to the mainstream means more kids likely to enter the sport. Means better fighters.

Big numbers also mean big paydays. Big paydays attract more athletes. Athlete attraction means bigger talent pool. Bigger talent pool means better fighters.

I care about numbers because I care about the health of boxing as a sport.

Whats up with all the secrecy regarding ppv buys in this day n age.... whats the big deal.

Stupid how fans have to rely on anonymous tips to get rumored buys for major events.

    Yeah smh.
I remember back in the day the fight was on saturday night and on tuesday wednesday we had the PPV numbers.
I suppose sales are very low nowadays in the digital era.

Big numbers doesnt mean its an healthy sport specially when its only two or three fighters that put on good numbers . And 250k in a country of 300 million its nothing .

How is it more visible when its on PPV instead of being free like the NBA and the NFL ? Boxing is a niche sport compared to those other sports and the gap is getting wider and wider. Boxing was at its healthiest when it was on free tv and you could see the biggest stars and other fighters regularly on free tv.

Big numbers mean big paydays to a handfull of fighter the truth is the vast majority of boxers are underpaid compared to other sports .The worst paid guy on the NBA gets more money in his career than someone like Roman Gonzalez who is an ATG fighter what does that tell you about the health of the sport or a guy who cant fight like Jake Paul makes more money with his gimmick than 99% of boxers .

As for the bigger pool of talent its getting smaller and smaller in the US each year if it wasnt for foreign fighters the talent pool would be at its lowest hell it probably is even counting the foreign fighters .

Big numbers doesnt mean the sport is healthy youre naive if you think thats the case.

Mayweather and Pac did big numbers but what did that mean to other boxers and their paydays ? I say it didnt do much it meant that there were two fighters who managed to transcend the sport and make millions from boxing that wasnt a reflection of the sport in its entirety and their pratictioners .

The sport still remained a niche sport (the media only talks about it when something bad happens even a boring sport like golf get much more attention and more coverage by the media than boxing) and 99 % of boxers where underpaid Pac and Floyd where two of two .They were the exception not the norm.

With that said i love boxing and always will

That's all well and good but it doesn't take much critical thinking to call bs on that.

The same article even mentions Canelo v golovkin 2 doing 1.1 mil buys yet the writer wants us to believe DAZN expected the same numbers vs Bivol.

That makes no sense at all.

what, you are saying Canelo and Bivol didn’t do 550k buy? Is that what you are trying to say? Or are you defending this dumb ass with his tank 450k buy. I just don’t get wtf you are arguing about.

ohh look it is the lying POS. So many ****ing lies. Let see...Your an attention seeking ***** who claims to be related to a famous boxer, claim to be a trainer, make all sort of claims with nothing to back it up.

You are a ****ing clown . Probably just now hitting your teen years. I haven't seen someone lie and try as hard to be something they are not like your fake self on here and I've been here a very long time. No one takes your stupid ass serious. Everyone on here see you as nothing more than a lying POS.
