He was definitely fun to watch! He was among the boxers scheduled to apperar @ Intl Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota this year, he was on the top of my list of boxers to meet. RIP CHAMP
Damn.... RIP. He was a crazy mother****er but Tapia was a favorite of mine when I was growing up. Too bad he couldn't beat his fight with coca.
Great champion great fighter loved watching him, but not surprised it kinda astonishing he survived as long as he did, cant even remember how many times he's overdosed on cocaine im guessing this was his last. The man considered everything in his life a fight and had ups and downs like a bi-polar chick on crack but he was a great fighter entertaing and fun when ever the camera was on him inbetween rounds he almost always had something funny to say he was a tough sob with a good sense of humour. Watching his 2 interviews with I forget who was kinda heart breaking especially the family members that died in a car crash to visit him after he OD'd again. He lived a crazy life the horrible fate of his mother seemed to start it but hopefully in death he can get higher than he ever did on cocaine straight to the pearly white gates to join the other mexican legends who passed before there time R.I.P champ.
Rip Tapia. I dont know much about Tapia to be honest. I Was following Lennox Lewis when Tapia was ruling. Poor chances to watch guys from tv back then and no internet.
He was a real character, he's mostly remembered for his fights with Ayala but his fluid combination punching and boxing skill/style was what him fun to watch.
