http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/tarver-weighs-in-at-221lbs-63091 I think Tarver should have come in a bit lighter than this. What is everyone's thoughts ?
Retire Tarver you have nothing to prove and you have no chance against Haye or the Klits. Maybe you can make some good money against Adamek but thats about it.
Compared to Wladimir Klitschko? Yes. Compared to James Toney (even when he first moved up to HW)? Not really.
That's definitely true. Like Toney though, he has a style that doesn't expend or waste a lot of energy, so even having a little flab shouldn't really hurt him as long as he's still able to get punches off with the same quickness as before (which was slow compared to a Chad Dawson but would still be faster than Nagy Aguilera) and not gas out from his slow-and-steady old reliable pace. If he's got a bit of extra power mixed in with that flab (power doesn't always manifest itself as glamor muscle, after all), all the better. I'll be surprised (not shocked) if he loses to Aguilera, who is pure **** from a boxing standpoint and relies solely on his punch, while Tarver has always had a truly exceptional chin and hasn't exactly been clobbered too badly so as to diminish his punch resistance, even in his losses.
