Dunno about that lefty.Griffin lasted to round 11 on the Sylvester-Geale U/C. Green stopped a less shot version in 3 or 4 I think. He's powerful.

Why do people bring up the ring rating him the hardest puncher at super middle as some sort of proof that he can punch? They are just people watching like you or me. At the time he had knocked Beyer down in their match which was unusual at the time as well as stopping a weakened old version of Lucas. The division was weak at the time. I'm talking one punch power, what has he ever done? Kessler demolished Beyer, hurt him far worse than Green did and do we think of Kessler as a murderous puncher? Green is strong and stops his opponents through an accumulation of shots, he isn't a guy that can change a fight with one punch. Can anyone see him landing consecutive punchers on a solid defensive fighter like Tarver? Especially at this weight his punches are nothing, Tarver wins this easily if he's in shape.

still not convinced about his power. I was unimpressed when he was unable to put Garcia away way back when, even though he was hitting him a lot. That fight was also at nearly LHW.

His win over Dominguez was more an accumulation of power punches over the whole round. The win over Jones jr was much the same - a barrage of punches, and still didnt KO him, just had the ref step in. Briggsy, well we all saw what happened there, the evidence is on the DVD. Siaca was shot to ****.

Yeah, im not totally convinced he's that powerful.

As for how he'll fare against Tarver... his ability to take a good punch and his work rate will give him a good chance of winning.

I agree that Tarver is certainly here for his pay day a big jump from his last few fights

but he also has a big ego so his shape i think will be ok

I also think Danny has made a smart move and should win on points/

He has trained very hard and his chin is too good so the 12 rounds should be a better value for money compared to roy

Tend to agree, Greens power is very overrated.

Power is meaningless if it doesn't land.

    Simple really.

good point Leon, then again i wouldnt think Mundine as crafty as RJJ. Ottke landed one, Woods landed one, i guess Danny just had an unlucky night in the office lol

Just call me the eternal optimus :yep
I backed him to beat BJ by points in his last fight but on this occasion i feel that he will stop Tarver in the mid to late rds.
I think if Danny can hurt him to the body early and it will tell later in the fight and it wouldn't surprise me if Tarver quits on his stool or the ref steps in and stops it.
Big call i know but hey that's what gambling is all about.
The best odds for Danny i could find were at this uk site "BET365"

    HEAD 2 HEAD

    Tarver $3.25
    Green $1.33

    Decision
    Green$2.00
    Tarver$$4.80

    KO
    Green$3.75
    Tarver$4.80

I couldn't pass up the $3.75 for the ko so i've had a decent bet on that and i put a couple hundred on Danny winning between rd 7-9 at 12-1.
I might even have to dump all my v-cash on him as well:hey

Good odds For Tarver @ $4.80 to win by KO. I simply can't see Tarver not coming in ready for this fight. Another chance to show Roy up & thats all this fights about. Oh and the $1.2m purse. Tarver will be out to starch the man who starched Roy in 1 rd. And I think he will.
