The odds are exactly 2/1 in favor of Dawson. I think those are fair odds considering the circumstances. But i think it just proves how underrated Tarver is in general. I think it's his awkward style and the way he fights which leads people to believe he's nothing good. He doesn't seem too coordinated or looks like he packs power. It's a deceiving style but it has worked.

Does anyone doubt that this fight will either be a Dawson UD or a Tarver KO?

Those are the only two choices, Tarver has chin and I don't know to much about Dawson being great. I seen him get dropped three x's, but he still got up and won.

I don't think it was a lucky punch. If that's a lucky punch, then every counter punch or calculated punch thrown in history that lands is lucky to some extent. Check out the video below and fast forward to 8:20. A few seconds later, you will see Tarver JUST miss his straight left and RJJ realizes this and feels like he has to come back with something. Tarver was just all wrong for RJJ. RJJ could never jump in and throw the leaping right which was a big part of his game because of Tarver's straight left. Tarver limited RJJ's offense.

Tarver is a reasonably intelligent articulate man.

If he fought Roy Jones at the same point of Roys career that Chad is now - We'd speak of Tarver like Richard Hall.

This fight is 50-50 for me... It is funny though that Tarver is talking about speed because Dawson is a fast fighter, and anytime Roy used speed and put together more than one punch at a time, Tarver froze up like a deer in headlights.

I think If Dawson just keeps using his hand speed and stays on him, he could win. By the time Tarver ever faced Roy, he was reluctant to throw the punches that he once did, call it old, weight drained, gunshy or whatever, but thats the way I see it.

With that questionable chin of Dawson's, I think I agree with you Tarver, it might be rediculous.

It should be interesting to see if Tarver's attempts to psyche out Dawson has any effect on him come fight night; to my knowledge, nobody that's ever fought Chad has done anything pre-fight to try and get in his head, and certainly not to the extent Antonio's going to by the time the fight actually gets here. Tarver loves getting under people's skin when he senses that could give him an edge; whether or not that works on Chad is going to be a key to the fight.

i could see any of the 5 possible outcomes occurring, including a draw

tarver is a long rangy awkward southpaw who fights in a very deliberate and tactical manner... i don't see why you're automatically ruling out a points win for him
