According to Dan Rafael. Too bad, this has the makings of an East Coast fight to me. I guess you have Jones/Calzaghe in NYC the next month, but there are plenty of other places it could go.
Should be in Tampa. At least that town knows how to come out for a fight but sadly it's the purse bidding that will screw the cities that actually attend fights.
I was hoping for Tampa, too. Would have been great, as there are fans of Tarver there and fans who would like to see Tarver get the stuffing beat out of him.
I would drive down if they had it in Tampa, should be a great fight. Vegas people aren't going to support this fight.
I don't think so, either. Tarver's last bout there was a disaster, and Dawson doesn't have any recognition there. It's too good a bout to suffer from a poor gate, but it will. Also, according to Rafael, they're talking about Johnson vs. Henry in the opener.
It is never a bad thing to fight in vegas, and I'm sure Chad will be thrilled at the opportunity. That said, there would probably be a bigger turnout in Tampa, where the fanbase is more in tune with both men.
Connecticut at the new MGM would be pretty cool. Especially considering it's a 45 minute drive for me there. But I don't see it doing too well in Vegas.
No offense, but most of your friends are Canadian, right? It's certainly a bigger fight than Bute/Andrade.
Someone linked a Romanian news story a couple weeks ago, I think, and ESPN's Dan Rafael mentioned Johnson/Henry (don't think this is done) as a possible undercard opener for Tarver/Dawson.
Man, this is one of my most antcipated fights. I can't wait for this one. This is for the title of best LHW out there. Forget Calzaghe. This is it. The two best LHW's going at it to settle it once and for all.
