Tarver, 15 minutes of fame BEEN UP. Tarver except for that 2nd RJJ fight never was impressive and he is easily a KO waiting to happen if and when he steps up.
Why is that? He'll almost certainly lose if he steps up to a top five heavyweight, but unless it's a Klitschko it will most likely be a points loss. Yes, he's old and small and inactive and a light hitter compared to other heavyweights. He still has a better defense and chin than a lot of contenders. Saying he'll lose is one thing. Saying he's a KO waiting to happen when all evidence points to the contrary (again, unless he gets in with one of the Klitschkos, who knock everybody out) is more than a little silly.
he looked pathetic. really pathetic. he is delusional. Knock out both klitschko's not even in a multiple universe.
Stop running Christo. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=110292 Show us what you know about boxing before the fact. Let the laymen talk about it after the fact.
Well, that's obviously not happening...at least not in 2010 or 2011. He's acquitting himself better as a 40-something than Holyfield (and arguably no worse than his conqueror BHop, who's looked pretty dreadful himself twice in a row now).
I'm going to have my younger sister smack Christo around a bit, like a little girl. You like getting smacked around like a little girl Christo? Ignorant, jackass, momma's boy. ****. What more do you need? My social security number? Mother's maiden name?
For his debut at HW, i thought he looked pretty darn good. He won almost every round and showed his superior boxing skills. He was landing a ton of flush left hands and upper cuts. He just didn't have the power to take his guy out.
He looked ok the other night but when considering the layoff and his age thats expected. He'll keep picking the right opponents and eventually land a big fight. He still has the skill, defense, and experience to hold his own against most heavyweights but I can't see him beating many of the better ones. He'll beat a couple more guys like Agueilera than he'll either get a shot against Haye, Arreola, or maybe a Klitschko. Or he'll go a different route and fight some of the other old-timers like Holyfield and Toney. Tarver may have made things a bit more interesting if he would have made a heavyweight run several years ago. Now, he's going to be more style than substance but the heavyweights could use a little more style as well.
