He's old and shot. He tried his best. His best was not even close to being good enough. He got outclassed. He really tried. I saw the effort. He tried his uppercuts and the left and threw his combinations all fight long but he just didn't have the talent and hand speed to match Dawson.

tarver is good but hes older, never had a high workrate.and he fought a guy with a high work rate who could box and was faster.i dont think he would have ever beaten chad.tarver loss to glen, cause he got outworked and tarver was the better boxer between them to.

tarver is good boxer, he could have did a little better in his early yrs but chad would have already beat him.

Tarver is old, but there is an element of him going into a bit of a defensive shell (or just shutting down) when he's tasting leather.

Some fighters take the leather and fire right back, not being cautious. Others become more cautious and look (or wait) for openings. Tarver's tendency to be too cautious (leary of the bodywork) cost him the first time against Jones, and he also seemed to go into a shell early on against Hopkins. Same thing against Harding, although it's understandable because of the physical damage he sustained.
