You are aware just being in the top ten doesn't mean you make a min of $100K a year, right? And which top ten? There's 4-5 ****in top tens with belts guys fight for regularly. Guys who aren't close to familiar named might be lucky to get $20K a fight. Everything is a ****in agenda to you fanboys. Get a grip dude. atsch
I don't think it's up to the fighters by themselves that should pay I think the commissions need to take a ****ing reallll hard look at what is going on here. Maybe take some of the sanctioning fee money they receive and put it towards VADA testing for championship fights in their state? It's much cheaper than USADA and IMO a decent start.
Until there is some sort of unified commision in boxing, with stringent rules, it's up to the promoters and Boxing orgs to foot the bill for tests. But I agree. these ABC's have no qualms making a new belt to collect sanctioning fees, so they need to do something right w/ all that extra income. Another thing, if HBO ir SHO is going to televise a fight on cable or PPV, let them foot some of the bill. Everyone wants TV dates, so they can negotiate with that. tests for ALL on TV, or fight in a bingo hall in podunk Kenosha...
Exactly, and basically, it comes down to morals for money. And we all know that's not how boxing rolls. :verysad
I agree, and Floyd should let us know how many TRT sessions he went through with his good friend the doctor he fly's to all his fights!
Personally, I think Floyd and GBP could have used their popularity in a better fashion to make USADA/WADA testing madatory for, at least, title fights. And then go from there. I never bought Floyd's "I want to clean up the sport" line, but at least it brought overdue attention. They handled it like amatuers IMHO. Floyd is supposedly a promoter, GBP is a licensed promoter. If they were sincere, they would test ALL fighters on their cards. As it stands, whether it's USADA or WADA, their standards and costs should be the driving force between who uses which one.
Berto had 20 ng or some such. This explanation isn't plausible In his case because if it was there would be many times as many positives as we actually see.
