What fighters are even under Mayweather promotions? I honestly don't know, since they aren't even a licensed promotional entity.
Yeah, that's the sad part. Looks like he thought he could just 'roid' his way to victory without the hard work. What's the damned world coming to when you can buy a pill to replace hard work anyhow?
He doesn't have any. But he adds his "Mayweather Promotions" tag in VERY small letters to some fight cards. He's about as much a promoter as he is a record producer. Anyway, seeing as this is a Tarver thread, maybe should be on that topic. Good talks though! Back to topic, I wonder what SHO will do about their guy?
I'm sure that makes for a nice big Warm Fuzzy paycheck for you. Thanks for the relevent contribution. I'm happy for "your" success.
As better testing becomes more prevalent in the sport, it will undoubtedly yield more competition which will drive down prices of testing. I am all for cleaning up the sport, but I have to admit that I am a little skeptical. Vada's claim to fame is catching cheating boxers, but USADA hasn't caught any. I don't think that necessarily means Vada is better. The fighters that fought using USADA may have in fact been clean. Also, I think that there are some hurdles that they will need to jump over before this kind of testing is universally accepted. Promoters are the entities assuming most of the risk, from a financial standpoint. They will need insurance policies in place that will ensure that they will not lose a ton of money if fighter test positive. They will need adequate time to replace fighters on a card, if they test positive. This is still a business. Look at Berto, what if he was indeed clean, and his positive test was the result of a supplement contamination, or another source(thanks IB). His reputation is ruined, and he lost a lot of money. Wouldn't you agree that there is reason to be fearful even if you are a clean fighter? What if there is a contamination or some other unforeseen happening that caused a fighter to test positive?
Definitely :good Putting it all in perspective I DOUBT really highly that he gets the ban from shocards. Was he supposed to do tomorrow nights Ortiz card? Now I'm interested :think I doubt he gets banned, Roy never did.
Boxing's been neck-deep in them for at least the past 35 years, and that's me giving the benefit of the doubt to the old timers that it took steroids 15-20 years to enter the sport in the first place. This is the first time that the spotlight's really focused on the problem, these past few years. But they've been in the sport for a long, long time and I'm sure fans would be disappointed at many of the big names that took them if such a list ever came out. You take desperate guys looking for any edge they can get, at a time when steroids weren't near as demonized as they are today...I'd be shocked if they weren't firmly rooted by the 1970's.
Honestly I think its only shocking because its happening to so many so fast, kind of like when they caught all the baseball players.
atsch It's not like they would have the results of the test within 15 minutes while he's still in the locker room, FFS.
