I had Jones by small margin, 115-113.

There was a rematch so that speaks for itself, the fight was close.

Jones won 7-5 or 8-4. That was probably his last great fight. He was sub par but used all his moves to pull it out of the bag. He should have retired after that.

Wow Dipper--this isn't even close. Maybe you should go back and watch the fight with the volume turned off and give us your score. I'm sure you will find some reason why you can't do that---If you can't find the fight, I can even send you a copy of it on dvd

Jones close 1-3 rounds simply because Roy got lazy at times and allowed Tarver to throw bombs at him while he was at the ropes. However, when the fight was in the middle of the ring Tarver looked like a fool. If Tarver looked impressive at times in that first fight then it's because Roy ALLOWED him to by going to the ropes. Roy won fair and square.

I originally scored the fight a draw at the time. I have watched that fight at least 15 times and at the best it was a draw for Tarver. But I couldn't seen how anybody could give Tarver the victory he simply didn't do enough in enough rounds to win on the score cards.

If anybody won it, it was Jones as having watched the fight on numerous occaisons I can see how some would give it to RJJ by a couple of rounds. I think the fight was there for the taking that night for Tarver but he blew it by simply not doing enough. He lost too many rounds by simply doing nothing and that really decided the outcome of the fight. I had the impression that had Tarver simply worked a little harder he would have beaten Jones that night.

I watched this fight again last week and scored it a draw. That was probably the best you could do for Tarver, while one or two of the close rounds I edged for him this time could have gone for Jones.

Antonio should have won, Roy was there to be had, but he failed to deliver.

Jones won it fairly. Close, but he won it 7-5.

Tarver spent too many rounds in the middle of the ring doing nothing but stare at Jones, too patient, and leary of Jones's bodywork.

It came a few months after Lewis-Klitschko, and I've always felt that these are two of the most overrated losing performances in recent years, but Tarver's was even more overrated. At least Vitali took more risks when he lost.

Credit where it's due, Jones won the last few rounds. however, I thought that Tarver had enought rounds in the bag in the first half of the fight to just nick it.

That said, it was not a robbery or owt like that. also, it was easy to judge
Jones harshly because I simply wasn't used to seeing such a flat footed performamce from him. So, that might have skewed my judgement.

I had it 7-5 for Jones. I don't see how Tarver won that fight but I guess when you're RJJ and you look amazing against your competition, a close fight by comparison kinda looks like a loss. He didn't 'shine' like most of his other fights so people thought he didn't deserve to win. I just wish he would have retired after the first tarver fight and cemented his legacy as one of the greatest. 49-1, defeating all challengers, a 4-division champ and the first middleweight to win a HW title in 100 years. WOW

I thought it was a close but legit win for Jones, he was just able to step it up late when he needed it most. I understand Tarver being pissed because it was close, but in those last two or three rounds he just didn't quite do enough.

    7-5 jones.

the 11th and 12th rounds were the decisive one for me, and Jones pulled it out with pure gut and heart. If tarver would have sustained an attack he would have won, but jones controlled the middle of the ring and really stepped it up with whatever little he had left.
