I had Tarver winning a close one. Reminded me of Hagler-SRL a bit. . . of course I had Hagler winning that one too.

    Thanks for posting this---

After watching it again I was amazed that RJJ won this fight bigger than I originally scored. I had it:

    Tarver
    rounds--1,2,8,10

    Jones
    3,4,5,6,7,9,11,12

Tarver blew this fight in the third when he thought he would try to clown and dance with Roy and Roy beat him to the punch in the center of the ring because of it. There were a few close rounds late but if you watch they are only close because Tarve would through combos for 20-30 seconds while RJJ was on the ropes and the rest of the round Roy would own him in the center of the ring. When it came down to it, Tarver did not do enough nor did he take advantage of ROy being tired in the ring---

    DIPPER-------

I CHALLENGE YOU TO WATCH THIS FIGHT AND POST YOUR SCORES ROUND BY ROUND!

116-112 or 115-113 Jones. Couldn't see Tarver winning 6 rounds let alone 7.

You can even argue that Jones won the first round, even though Tarver did nothing but that one flurry.

I had jones up a round before the 11th and 12th which i gave both to Jones. Was nice to see him step up to the plate in those final rounds. Tarver was either very fatigued or he thought he had it in the bag because he didn't to a damn thing in the last couple of rounds. Jones won that fight with body attacking, which to some people its harder to notice a good body attack as opposed to someone going upstairs. Tarver was bragging that he didn't have a mark on his face, i wonder what his body was feeling like lol.

I wanted to add something else as well--for those that think RJJ has a glass jaw I think you need to think again after watching this fight. Tarver landed some huge bombs on RJJ in this one and it's no wonder Jones looked as bad as he did after. But I agree with Mind Reader--I bet Tarver's body and ribs were sore as hell for awhile.

I think Roy Jones is one of the biggest wastes of talent--EVER!

That said, this was one of the rare occassions where he stepped it up. He won the bout by taking the championship rounds. Before that, it was even at 5 apiece.

    RJJ 115-113.

Wow--I disagree with that---a guy that won championships at 4 weight classes is a waste of talent? The only real fight missing from his resume is DM at 175. I think the blame for that is 50/50.
