Jones easily won on round by round, Tarver did hurt him a few times though

Haven't watched it in ages but I think I scored it 115-113 for Roy. He came through in the championship rounds.

Jones looked so ordinary by his standards, that I think some people gave Tarver the benefit of every doubt. I remember the British commentators scoring it as a draw, then immediately decrying it as a disgraceful robbery when RJJ had his hand raised.

115-113 Jones. I think that I had it level after 10.

116-112 Jones. he showed a lot that night, especially given how much weight he had just lost. Plus he was up against a man that was obsessed with fighting him and beating him his whole career.

I liked it at first but what follows is just horrible. The whole thing made me dislike Tarver and the rematch.
Tarver grew on me and i like him now but cant look at the fights they had.

No way Tarver won the fight. The only way you score this fight for Tarver is if you absolutely hate Jones and give Jones rounds to Tarver.

We all know Tarver lost the last 2 rounds.

And from rounds 3-6 he threw a grand total of 25 power punches of so. He did absolutely nothing for half the fight.

Tarver was the first man who looked good against Jones in ages. That was such an uncommon thing to watch that we all were left very impressed by Tarver , and that led many to believe that he deserved to win this one.
But in reality Roy deserved his win, because he did a little more than Tarver. He didn't look as spectacular as he used to, so many said that he looked bad when he didn't.
When I watched it live, I too thought that Tarver might have deserved the nod, because he left such an impression and made 'superman' look like a human. Same thing with my pals. But upon watching the fight again, afterwards, we agreed on that Jones did enough in that ring to get the nod.

Roy should have retired after that fight.

6-6 was my score & I thought Tarver won his rounds more clearly, Jones looked a million miles from the guy who put a masterclass on Ruiz in his previous fight, thats what he gets for not staying at HW & reaching for immortality by fighting Lennox Lewis, there was no reason to go back down in weight, the fans wanted him to test himself vs the heavies & win or lose go down as an all time p4per... now look at him, **** happens, he shoulda listened to the fans for once.

I like Tarver too(I even once had a dream where I was him, lol). I was more thinking of Jones getting something for his unfortunate lncident in the Hall fight, though.

Rounds 11 and 12 told me all I need to know about Roy Jones' intangibles.
