Could the old boy take the up & comer in to deep water and drown him? Nahh probably not but I'd love to see him try. Tarver has slick defense and a good chin, could he go the distance?
Tarver is durable and has an awkward southpaw style but the sheer difference is size, strength and power and Tarver being quite stationary means he's in for a painful night. If Tarver somehow goes the distance he will be taking a beating for most of it.
I think Tarver would give Joshua hell for a few rounds until Joshua's size and strength take its toll. It would be a good learning fight for Joshua, infact I think Joshua v Cunningham is an excellent fight.
Tarver would be a riskier fight than Whyte, not the ko power of Whyte but certainly on another level in skills.
I was about to dismiss this match but then I thought it'd be a good step up, even if Tarver is faded.
i watched tarver v banks and cunningham/ he is still competitive and skillfull/ just footspeed has gone down and they are very small heavys. i think tarver still has ability and will to win just father time means its not worth fighting joshua , shorter and smakller heavys though he will be competitive.
