At first I got what Showtime wanted with eventually getting Tarver and Dawson in the ring together.

Putting them on the same show together build up the interest.

But does Tarver actually want the fight?

If so he sure is taking the long and fiscally rewarding(for him) path.

I just don't get why Showtime hasn't said get in the ring with someone worth getting in with or get out.

You know, Woods might just beat Tarver now. Gotta agree with that. I also think Green does it. Briggs, I don't know but all of them would be fights people would be happy with.

I would bet money of Woods beating Tarver.

Dawson definitely has wanted the Tarver fight. At least now he gets Johnson, which should make for a solid defense.

The most recent Tarver fight was a disgrace. Truly. He doesn't want any part of Dawson, and neither does Hopkins, for that matter. The old guard is freezing him out, which is very frustrating.

Good! There's no reason for this fight to happen anyway.

He fought a dud in his last fight, looked like ****, and barely escaped with a decision. He may as well cash out against Tarver while he's available and get his ass KO'ed into retirement with a decent purse.

It should be a fight likw they have in wrestling but for real - Loser retires.

It wouldn't hurt either man - though I'd say Tarver has made more $$$ Than Jeff in his career.

I hope this fight goes through

it seems to me alot of the people in this thread would rather these 2 fighters stay inactive (which is what will happen if the fight is cancelled) than fight each other.

Yeah Woods/Tarver would be very interesting. Lacy can fight Bika, Green, or Andrade on the undercard.
