Folks, What will Royal Jones say or claim after he more-than-likely gets beat / battered into defeat by B-Hops on Sat. night??? I read some Jones jive a week ago were he was whining that Hops waited for him (Jones) to be done and over-the-hill before agreeing to a rematch....... WTF? B-Hops is the elder man by nearly "4" yrs....... At age 45, B-Hops is an ancient warrior....... I do not know what the Vegas or Atlantic city line / lines are for this fight, but I gotta assume Hops is a big favorite...... MR.BILL :deal
B-hop aged much better, Jones is way past it and was a ***** move by B-hop challenging him at this point.
Jones wants it too or he would've just said no. But to respond to the TS, it was gutsy to talk smack then ko the same opponent on the same night. Similar to Judah when he was cocky that he would knock out Cory and .....he did!
Not as delusional as he is know? No one would accuse him of ducking a Hopkins rematch especially in Jones' state now.:good
Really disappointed that Bernard went ahead with the Jones fight. Sorely. Not because he should be fighting Chad Dawson, BHop doesn't owe any of us a god damn thing with who he's fought, but it's almost as if you're up town and you beat the crap out of a guy who can't even stand up because he's had 10 Yager Bombs. There's no glory in that, and there's no glory in beating Jones. It's become fashionable to knock Jones out.
Jones has absolutely nothing to lose. If he loses his excuse can be he was always over the hill. All the pressure is on Hopkins, he has to win and win impressively. Hopkins only needs this fight for personal closure and if he loses, most likely there will be a rematch. Either way Im getting the dam fight, I cant miss it.
Don't get Hopkins wrong he wants to fight Dawson but he also wants big $$$$$$$$$$$ that greedy guy!lol If Chad was a big draw then he probably would be fighting him instead. This guy has been in a place full of killers what would he fear?
I dont think Hopkins wants any part of Dawson. He would do a number on Hopkins, too young too busy too strong. Hopkins needs to keep picking on the older and one dimensional crowd. Dawson is a real force now.
I agree, Technks. My point was that people seem to be criticizing a 45 year old man for not taking on one of the brightest young stars in Boxing today. He has nothing left to prove, but he could have challenged himself by moving up a division instead of fighting Jones. Roy is no longer relevant, but Hopkins insists on humiliating the once great fighter anyway. Not-cool.
Hops is still the older dude at age 45............. No dispute there........ NOW! I thought after Danny Green iced Jones last Dec. down in Aussieland, that this rematch between he and B-Hops was all but fruitless....... Who approached who in terms of getting this stale rematch encounter back into full swing for April? Did Hops actually PUSH for this rematch in '10, or did Jones and company press the issue / button?? Who did what??? My thing is, if Jones says that Hops only agreed to this rematch cuz Hops thinks I'm done like a cooked goose in an oven..... That doesn't sound too promising from team Jones....... Jones is done...... Anyone know what the split is on this fight? Who's grossing what?? MR.BILL
Yes but when you look at it he still is PFP top 10 so that's why people criticize him. Personally, rankings don't mean **** to me. Not dissing Dawson but lets look at his recent fights: Johnson twice(over 40), Tarver twice(40 and over) the last time he fought someone much under 40 was in 2007. I'm glad he's facing Pascal next because even Hopkins at this stage still has a chance to beat and possibly ruin him the only way Hopkins can.
