I live in sydney so if the tassie Gov says no maybe the fight will be in sydney so i am happy if the tassie gov says No

90% of people have never heard of Geale. The only 2 boxers they have heard of are Mundine and Green. Plus Geale is not risking his life fighting some tin can.

If Geale was fighting Pacman, the government would ship him the $500k quicker than you can blink your eyelids. The amount of exposure that would draw to Tasmania would be enormous considering the international media exposure and overseas visitors. Geale v Mr Tin Can would at best draw two people from the mainland. Sox and his dog. How much economic benefit would that be to Tasmania?

 

Do they allow dogs on the spirit of Tassie?

I seem to recall clearly that my comments were that I thought the best path for Daniel was in Europe, confind to Germany specifically where he would get super fights / paydays. (I said this BEFORE he won the belt also)

I've also said Daniel IS NOT a draw in Australia, be it PPV or tickets sales, no shame it that, ijust means in my opinion, he has to be like a Kats or Vic to ply and earn his big dollars overseas.

I said that if they were desperate for a home defence, then yes, I agree with the likes of Ippy and Ash, etc that Mandy is the option. To be frank, anyone with brains can see that.

P.S: And as for the Tasmanian govt. stumping up huge money to put a show on for him down there - why should they? What the **** do they get out of it as no one / no serious numbers will travel down there, thus bringing in outside commercial dollars to the state of Tasmania and please don't give me drivel about TV exposure world wide as **** all in the scheme of things will even see it.

This fight wouldn't even be shown live in the States. It would be shown on delay through Showtime, or worse ESPN.

****ing hell, Geale's best PPV numbers in Australia are only 3,000. ****ing Mandy's worst day ever still shits on it.

 

All the respective events you note have all their broadcast rights sold and shown world-wide, fact.

Geale can make more money overseas or even in syd or melb so what if tassie gov did not come to the party just move on. If he had picked one of the other belt holders to fight in tassie then maybe they wld have coughed up some cash as someone said his opponent is not the best which does not draw much interest. If he wants to draw the crowds & interest in oz rematch mundine thats always an option & it will do big ppv & gate sure a few people on here australia wld pay to see if geale cld beat mundine.

 

Geale wants his first defence at home mate...it means more to him than a bigger payday in SYD

I'm going to guess that Mundine is next...in December this year.

 

Hope so . i no he wld like to defend at home & fully understand why but in this game your at the top 4 a short time so go set your self up 4 the rest of your life. & yes mate wld lv 4 him to fight mundine again.
