tattoos and training

    i'm getting a tattoo next week on my upperback/across my shoulderblades. given the spot, should I lay off the training for a bit or continue on as i would normally?:think

    You're going to need at least a week to 10 days for it to heal properly. Just lay off and take a break. You're going to have that tattoo for ever, no sense in messing it up just for a few work outs.

    Take a while to heal properly.
    A tattoo across the shoulderblades will HURT like a son of a b**** :lol:

    how bad do tattoos hurt?

    when i get married i'm going to make my wife get one of my face on her cooch.

    really depends on where you get it and how high your pain tolerance is. i have tattoos on each of my shoulders and they were more annoying than anything, but last time i went in a guy was getting a full side piece (hip to armpit) and was screaming and kept having to take breaks.

    Not that bad. I have one in the same place you're getting one and it only hurt up by my neck and by my spine...and a couple of times when he hit the bone.
    The outline hurts the most and after that it's like a sunburn or a bee sting.
    You'll get over it.

    I laid off when I got my forearm tatts because I obviously couldn't have the wraps creating friction over it.

    i just got one on my arm last tuesday.

    but i have taken a month off of training so i wouldnt know.

    but my common sense says yes you should probably not train for a week.

    takes closer to a month. im just shy of a month and still have the last bit of 'silver skin' to get rid of. if you're gonna train, try to not wear a shirt cuz the frictions gonna **** it up and do your best to avoid any contact with it.
