I admit i haven't seen enough of Cloud as i should have to make a confident judgement but i think Pascal would be inclined to fight negatively at times and his athletic in and out style would help him slow the pace down against a fairly static Cloud and cause him problems especially early on.

Pascal gets the better of the earlier rounds and slowly gets drawn into more of a tear up and starts to look the more tired of the two. Cloud's chance would effectively be a race against time, get Pascal involved in a fight on the inside and give him a hiding every time he stands still, take the rounds out of him and outlast him down the stretch.

I would probably lean towards Pascal surviving and landing a decision after banking the early rounds if the fight happened now. As awesome as this fight would be right now i wouldn't mind seeing Cloud matched with someone like Diaconu just to give him a bit more time to improve. He is the sort of guy who could be a real beast if he was a little craftier and slightly better defensively.

I think Cloud is made for Pascal. All Pascal's qualities will work on Cloud. On the contrary, Cloud won't be able to exploit Pascal's weaknesses.

I'm with Cloud all the way.
Hes my fav above 154 lbs right now.

Pascal doesn't throw with the power and intensity as Cloud does.

Pascal just fought 24 rounds against Bhop and 12 vs Froch and 24 vs Diaconu he has learned a lot vs good fighters Cloud went 12 with Johsnon and 12 with Woods

I think Pascak is more seasoned but Cloud less flawed

I think Cloud's toe to toe aggression wins i dont think anyone at 175 can go toe to toe with him

    maybe shumenov

I like how you put that. I would agree to Pascal being more seasoned. Thos short punches from Cloud would be too much for him though.

    pascal hits harder than mack

mack gave cloud difficulty with movement and pot shotting at times

but cloud is dangerous when stationary

pascal tires if he tires hes ****ed

unless his poweer i think maybe the best in the top 10 can maybe pull it out

I think this thread, and the poll that goes with it, show how people on ESB over react to knock outs. Berrio, Andrade, and Johnson all stopped Mack quicker than Cloud did. Pavlik and Bute both stopped Zuniga. Cloud went the distance with him.

Hyping Cloud because he knocked out Mack is a lot like everyone hyping Miranda back when he knocked David Banks out of the ring. It was brutal to watch, but not very meaningful.

Pascal's stamina is embarassingly bad, and under the pressure from Cloud it would be even worse, he tires mid way through and is stopped somewhere in the second half of the fight.

I will say Cloud is there to be hit if Pascal could hurt him early he may have a shot, but I doubt it.

I'm not hyping Cloud. I have seen Cloud since his Woods fight. I didn't like him then, but I see him getting better.

You're right about Mack. Mack was a good pick by his promoter just the right amount of oposition. Regardless though I see Cloud as being a top fighter and I see him getting better as time goes on.

I think if Johnson/Cloud II was made Clouds win wouldn't look as questionable.

I'm confused by your logic. I believe Pascal's "weakness" is his horrid stamina, Cloud is a classic pressure fighter...how would Pascals "weakness" not come into play here?

So you don't think a young fighter in the prime of his career losing to a 45 year old man (arguably) twice, isn't fighting down? No disrespect to Hopkins, but watch what happens when he fights Dawson...there's a reason he wouldn't even hear the Dawson challenges, yet jumped on Pascal the minute he got the technical decision over Chad.

Compared to Hopkins, Cloud will be easy to figure, don't you think?

I'll say this. If Dawson wasn't such a ***** and actually fought hard and punched hard he'll dominate both pascal and cloud.

Cloud would lose to a 1,2,3 turn type of fighter. Mack had some good work with that combo before getting ko'd

The poll is pretty close. Probably the best fight that can be made at 175 that's exciting.

I agree Cloud is a pressure fighter but he is slow and Pascal can run away as long as he wants to keep his energy. Cloud will be open to Pascal's "I give many punches and go away". I think Pascal will win enough early rounds to be able to win on points.

He will lose the last rounds, may get hurt but since he has a solid chin, he'll hear the bell.
