I got a lot of vcash on Gonzalez, FWIW. I'm hoping Gonzalez still has something left in the tank. I haven't seen any of his last few fights though. 2005 Gonzalez beats Cloud pretty convincingly, IMO. He's flashy and has a good punch, but it seems like he's wide open to getting caught, and he's been matched up against plodders and midgets. I think Cloud will look good early, but if Gonzalez weathers the storm (I don't see why he wouldn't, he has a good chin), then he can control the fight with his length.

I just hope you're right . . . Cloud has never fought anybody with more than 27 fights . . . his opponents are all medicore opponents and has been taken into the full route only once in a 4 rounder fight against Reggie Strictland . . . if this fight reaches championship rounds Then Julio should take it via UD.

    I picked JCG . . . and I hope he mades it.

Cloud's record looks horribly padded. I picked him to win by UD, but am not at all confident about this pick.

His record isn't as bad as people think. He beat Jose Luis Herrera who knocked out both Fernando Castro(great chin) and Aaron Williams a cruiserweight.

I feel good about Cloud...plus he's a real humble nice guy so you wanna root for him. One of his sparring partners called me the other day to update me on how his camp is going cus I'm not in Tally this summer, dude says he's lookin real fierce

Tavoris Cloud is a young fighter with some talent and solid basic skills, but nothing that stands out too much. He has never had to fight a long, tough fight, so it will be interesting how he handles Gonzalez, who I think will be coming in motivated because it's his last chance at getting a title shot. I don't think his power is as good as his record makes it out to be. He should have a lot of success early on against Gonzalez, but if he tries to blow him out with a lot of power punches and Gonzalez survives, he might get tired and not be able to handle Gonzalez in the later rounds. Cloud doesn't seem to have chin problems, but in his fight against Rodriguez he was getting a bit uncomfortable when Rodriguez pressured him very aggressively. I think Cloud may get uncomfortable in this fight once he starts tiring in the second half and Gonzalez's experience, toughness, and lack of respect for Cloud's power gives him problems. Cloud's best strategy would be to fight from the outside without trying to knock out Gonzalez early, then depending on how much consistent pressure Gonzalez brings, Cloud needs to break him down safely and systematically.

I think Cloud's gonna surprise some people with his boxing ability tonight. Look for him to be patient and catch Gonzales coming in with counters

Cloud was favored easily.. i saw the line go between -220 and -270... he certainly has some exciting offense
