Yeah, if AA really wins this, it would be totally BS to say JT was shot to **** or anything like that, because the only chance for AA to win is by KO. And AA is able to KO anybody in SMW imho.

And if he loses he was beat by damaged goods.

This thread isn't about Taylor/Abraham predictions or analysis. It's about Abraham winning his title under questionable circumstances. He was the IBF's 3rd or 4th choice to fight for a vacant title, and then won against a guy whose best wins were a worn out Echols and Emmet Linton. Once he got the title, he had 10 defenses, and 9 of them were against questionable opposition.

In what fight did AA establish himself as a champion? It's not Miranda. Edison lost every important fight he was in. So when exactly did Abraham establish himself as a true champion?

Boo, you speak the truth to a certain extent, but some guys that he fought gave other good fighters trouble and were ranked quite high. Compared to Taylor's opposition Marquez, Gevor, Elcock and Miranda were easy fights though.

Yep, it's like fighters can't lose anymore and 'not' be called damaged goods. It is why fighters back then are perceived as tougher than the fighters of today. You have to undersand that Pav's fans call PW tough, but deep in their minds they think that this fight will be easy. PW will shock the world lol... He's going to Margarito Pav lol...

If I was going to vote it would have to be no because I would make Pavlik slight favourite over Abraham at MW, and ultimately that's what I see the question of whether or not AA would have held a title as comming down to.

See in this alternative reality Abraham wouldn't have won the IBF title when he did but by rights, he would have been a mandatory to Pavlik if it wasn't for his 'paper title' stopping him getting ranked by any of the sanctioning bodies who's belts Pavlik holds.

OK since you're being nice, I don't think he would have beat KP and this isn't a should Pavlik and Abraham have fought thread I will vote no.

AA would've knocked JT out period...even before JT won(really lost) the Hop rematch. Had JT not vacated, AA would've knocked his ass out. JT could not stop Spinks or Ouma, and he would not come close to stopping or out boxing AA. There is no time during JT's career where I though that JT would beat AA. PAv is included also which is why that fight was never made. JT and PAv were smart business guys then lol...

I agree up to a point. AA is capable of knocking anyone out and may have been seen as a high risk/low reward fight by Arum. But I think if Pavlik controlled the distance and didn't try and trade with Abraham then he would easily win on points. The Pavlik of the Rubio fight would definately have beaten AA imo.

    I´d say yes and no.
No, because he definately didn`t face the best fighters in his weightclass.
But that`s not his fault. I think Abraham himself really wanted to fight anybody in middleweight, but promotors interests were different at that point, so he couldn`t check out, whether he`s the best. So he ( and his promotors ) is looking for that at SMW.
Yes, because he did in all fights enough to win, except his first fight with miranda. But especially in this fight, and that`s the point, where I definately disagree with you, he showed superhuman strenght in not giving up this fight because of injury. There are not many guys in boxing history, who did aswell. I´d call that championlike.
What is your definition of a champion ?
Concerning Abraham that`s hard to say whether, he has not got the classic attributes of a technical world class boxer, mostly is the smaller fighter and seems to be very lazy in his fights, but he has got extraordinary heart and power, a very good perception what goes on in the ring, and what is necessairy to controll and decide a fight.
These attributes are hard to value and makes it even more difficult to compare him with other fighters.
If you hate him it`s no problem to bring discredit on him. If you love him you say, he will ko everybody.
And he`s got a big number of fans, who like him, or hate him. That`s always a sign, that he`s something special.

You worte "another eurobum" meaning your opinion of the majority of European fighters as bums. If anyone was going to execute abraham it would have been miranda who had a guy literally losing blood. Now **** off and be a good boy.
