If Ward beats Taylor, Kessler beats Froch, Dirrell loses to Abraham, Dirrell beats Ward and Taylor beats Kessler.

Dirrell will be WBA Champ, Taylor the WBC champ and the winner of the tournament will be beltless  Not likely but 1 belt could well be taken away in the first round

That would be disasterous for both the tournament and the sport of boxing.

Neither Dirrell nor Taylor are going to win their last group fights coming off 2 defeats and 3 defeats respectively.

Maybe if Taylor loses badly again, against Ward in the next stage.... Bute might be his replacement? I'm sure he won't care about points when he has the oppertunity to win the other two belts.

No reason for Dirrell to quit. If not for a blatant robbery he'd be champ already. a unification bout between Ward and Dirrell in America would be huge

That scenario wont happen. Andre Ward is gonna retire Taylor.

I have a feeling Taylor is gonna beat Ward.

Ward vs Direll unification would not generate big PPV numbers

Could someone PLEASE explain to me how overrated Taylor will beat Ward?

  9. Does that then validate the belief that belts are bull****?

:good However unlikely (And it most certainly is not impossible) you make a very interesting point that I had never considered! I guess this is the problem with a boxing "Round robin/league" tournament involving current world champions AND contenders!! I must also say that this was the LAST thing my hung-over brain needed right now!!

I also believe that Dirrell beat Froch comfortably (And i'm English and A Froch fan!!). It was the first time I had seen "The Matrix" box and I was impressed with his boxing skills and all-round speed. I also believe that Andre had far too much respect for Froch and that contributed to his performance, in the early rounds especially. Had he fought from round one as he did in the last couple of rounds, he may well have stopped Carl! I also observed in that fight conclusive proof that Froch is somewhat overrated! Carl looked slow, one dimensional and was far too easy to hit, which spells danger for any fighter! And whilst I admire the sheer tenacity of the man and accept that he is undoubtedly world class, he is most certainly not (In my humble opinion) the best 168lb fighter in the world!

Whats weird is that prior to the fight Dirrell and his grandfather were watching the fight between Taylor and Froch and commenting that Taylor was giving Froch too much respect.

Froch is easy to hit. But he has heart. You wont see him in the corner looking for a way out like Kessler was. Lets see how Froch does against Kessler. I think he's gonna make alot of fanboys butthurt
