I was hoping for Pavlik, but thought Taylor would win another ugly SD. He definatly doesn't like to get hit and I wonder if the same thing that happened to Roy Jones will happen to him. After Jones got kO's the first time he was never the same, he was basically fighting to not get KO'd in his fights after that.

I am a Pavlik fan and had predicted a KO in the latter rounds for Pavlik if he survived the first few rounds - he is usually a slow started(except for the Miranda fight).
Don't forget pavlik was extremely lucky to survive the 2nd.I think Taylor is a slightly better boxer but Pavlik has serious power in that big right hand of his and that makes the difference

He did survive, but in the round after that Pavlik seemed to do more damage. His sledgehammer jab (it seemed pretty hard) landed with regularity. I thought Pavlik was winning the boxing match in the middle rounds, and considering he was badly hurt in the second, this leads me to believe when they fight a second time, Pavlik will lead out in points.

Taylor was reduced to counters. He has fast hands and beautiful combinations, but outside of getting a flush shot in, I can't think of a gameplan for Taylor to have the upper hand consistently.

    My prediction was

I believed that Manny could work wonders with Taylor. After all JT was a very promising talent once.

I never said that Taylor is superior though. Get your facts straight - I was leaning towards Taylor UD, thats it.

    But.

I was wrong - I'll kick myself. :good

I picked Pavlik to win, but during the fight Taylor showed he could be a superior boxer, Pavlik was just a lot strong mentally and stuck to his gameplan.

I agree, I thought Pavlik was sligthly too green for Taylor, but after fight started I became neutral ( I didnt think Pavlik was so huge ). I give Pavlik all the credit, he deserves it :good

Yeah, I recognize it and still say that Jermain by UD was a smart prediction... That doesn't mean I wanted Jermain to win but I admit I am not happy that he lost, could never be happy at someone getting knocked out, I am only happy for Kelly Pavlik and his Team, believe in what you want to believe. Thnx for mentioning me, honest, buddy.

Pavilik almost got KO'd. If the ref had stopped it while Taylor was pummeling him everyone would talking about what a bum he was and not what he could've done had he survived the onslaught. Boxing fans...

Taylor blew his load in the second round. When he tried so hard to knock him out I knew he was going to lose after that. I got winded watching him try so hard to knock the guy out. He should've attacked him more methodically.

Im real happy Pavlik won, and I stated several times I hope he wins because I enjoy watching him fight.

But I admit I picked Taylor to win, seemed like the smart money at the time and I would say I still only lean towards Pavlik in the rematch. I most certainly dont always go for the fighter I like better, I bet with my head not with my heart and I got it wrong.
Both fighters showed flaws, had their moments and it was an entertaining fight.

    Congrats Pavlik.

*******. It wasn't a beat down. I thought Pavlik could win sure, but Taylor was ahead on the cards. That ain't a beat down.

Taylor is a superior boxer, but either his ego or Pavlik's power got to him.

Has superior boxing skills, maybe, but a superior fighter ? Don't be silly

Fighters take big shots, get up, recover, and knock the other guy out.

Its great someone like Pavlik is champ, its healthy for the boxing scene to have a champ who ALWAYS wants to win by knock out and is prepared to get hit to do that.
