Taylor/Froch: 100% done Deal!

Which Froch fights are we basing this on?

Froch can throw a jab, for some reason he neglected to do so for about 8 rounds of the Pascal fight. He will need to do that against Taylor and also to fight in a far more measured style than he did against Pascal. Some defence would be nice, but he's never shown much inclination in that area. Fact remains that the stylistic match up is enough to ensure that Froch is a very live underdog in the fight.

 

His jab is slow and horrible. JT will time his jab and counter with his own from the first round. His chances are to set traps and play a little possom. If he tries to box he will look stupid. He is just an ugly fighter.

 

I've admitted that it is the only Froch fight I have seen. Also note a lot of new Froch fans on here after that fight. Coincidence? I think not. How many have you seen?

 

Your username is FrochPascal with a join date in Dec 2008, and you're criticizing others for focusing solely on the Pascal fight? Your entire existence on this site seems based on that fight.

Personally I think we're just awaiting a formal announcement by the promoters, but time for the conspiracy theorists to have at it...

Is Taylor's camp lying about the fight being done, that way when it doesn't go off, Carl is the one who looks guilty of pulling out?

Or is Froch's camp stalling with the intent of making it look like the fight wasn't made within the WBC's 8 week minimum? And if so, is it to search out another opponent or because Carl's injuries are bothering him more than they're letting on?

I favour Froch in this, mainly because he's naturally bigger. Taylor is highly overrated. Hopkins beat him twice imo

 

I'm anxious to see Taylor and Froch face to face at the weigh in; I'm betting the size difference is minimal.

As for the Hopkins fights, I'm always interested in seeing what rounds those who scored both fights for Hopkins actually gave to Hopkins. It's easy to go around posting that you thought he won the fights, but as someone who has gone back and watched both fights on several occasions, it's almost impossible to find more than 5 rounds to give Hopkins in either fight. I get that the feeling at the end of the first fight was that Hopkins was beating Taylor, but the fact that he did nothing for the first half of the fight seems to be forgotten.

Froch is not a very big SMW. In December, one week before the fight, he was almost at the good weight! If I remember, he was at 171, sometehing like that. Bute, who is abig SMW, is still at 180, 12 days before the fight. Size won't be a factor at all between Froch and Taylor.

 

IIRC, Froch has said he doesn't stray far from his fighting weight when he's not training. My guess is he probably walks around about 180, max.

Taylor walks around about 180-190 between camps. I know that six weeks before the Lacy fight, JT was already at 178. I think he ended up at 174 on the night of the fight. I'm guessing we'll see him a little bigger and in a little better shape against Froch.
