If they want us, we will be happy to go to Wales," DiBella said. "Joe's the man. If we had the opportunity to fight the man, Jermain has never walked away from a challenge and there is no bigger challenge than Joe. There's not a lot of choices for Joe if he continues campaigning. If he's not going to retire, there are not a lot of choices for him. Jermain is athletic enough to give Joe a good go, and Joe is a great champion who is not going to fight stooges." Taylor echoed DiBella's thoughts after his victory. "It's about business. This was my comeback fight and I love that but I don't know about going to Wales. Maybe Calzaghe should come back here."
taylors fight with lacy was billed as last chance for both even tho froch is champ i think taylor has a lot more to lose, showtime deal and all
If Taylor doubts that he can beat Froch, he should retire from boxing. Froch has so many technical flaws which are so easily exploited, I would be surprised if Taylor didn't send him home early.
Geez. I thought I was the only one with enough audacity to predict this could be Taylor's first stop since, well, forever.
Some of these over zealous brits need to be a lot more realistic about what they've got in Froch. Zuniga/Froch? Great fight. Taylor/Froch? A one sided beating.
Well, on one level it was an exciting fight. Unless...... My son gave me Dempsey's book on boxing so I wouldn't embarrass myself quite as much here. I never boxed, etc.... But geez, reading the first few chapters on throwing a punch was revealing. Even at THAT low of a level of understanding I watched that fight with some amusement. Pascal's straight arm roundhouse slap? :rofl At first I thought it was a spur of the moment, but when it turned out to be one of his favorites? atsch And this is Froch's big win?
Almost. I still haven't heard a figure for what Taylor's cut is of the Showtime money. I think he got $2.5 mill against Lacy. Lacy got $.5 mill. So, we knew they had $3 mill to put the fight on. I think that is the situation here. We know what they offered Froch, but we don't know what he is keeping for himself. That is my read on it anyhow. My guess is that he has $3mill to work with again based on what he offered Froch. Took a little less than $2.5 since Froch has the belt. But, again, this is my guess but it makes sense in terms of the way things have proceeded.
If Taylor is supposed to be such a talented boxer, how on Earth did he lose to a robot like Pavlik - twice?
I've always said Froch is the truth, but this guy is going to expire on the shelf and it is really sad because he has the potential to be a very good champ.:bbb
You obviously cannot analyze fighters yourself and are parroting other posts you have read. So, why bother pretending to put this in the form of a question when in reality you are making an uneducated statement?
